PGE und Ørsted unterzeichneten einen Vertrag über den Transport und die Installation von Monopiles für das Projekt Baltica 2

(WK-intern) – PGE Group und Ørsted haben Schiffe mit dem Transport und der Installation von Fundamenten für das Projekt Baltica 2, einer von zwei Phasen des Offshore-Windparks Baltica, beauftragt.

Van Oord, der erfolgreiche Bieter, wird 111 Monopiles transportieren und installieren, den Fundamenttyp, der beim Bau von Baltica 2 verwendet wird.

Davon werden 107 als Fundamente für Windkraftanlagen und die restlichen 4 als Fundamente für Windkraftanlagen dienen Offshore-Umspannwerke.

„Wir schließen regelmäßig weitere Verträge mit globalen Unternehmen aus der Offshore-Industrie für die Installation aller Komponenten für das Projekt Baltica 2 ab. Wir haben bereits Schiffe für die Installation von Turbinen und Kabeln gechartert und jetzt auch eine Flotte, die die Fundamente installieren wird, mit denen der Bau des Offshore-Windparks beginnen wird. Der Beginn der Installation von Monopiles ist für 2026 geplant, während der erste Strom von Baltica 2 ein Jahr später zu den Verbrauchern fließen wird“, sagte Arkadiusz Sekściński, Vorstandsvorsitzender von PGE Baltica, dem Unternehmen, das das Offshore-Programm der PGE-Gruppe umsetzt.

Van Oord ist ein führender internationaler Auftragnehmer mit mehr als 150 Jahren Erfahrung im Schiffsbau und Offshore-Projekten. Für den Transport und die Installation der Fundamente für das Projekt Baltica 2 wird Van Oord zwei Offshore-Installationsschiffe mobilisieren, Aeolus und Svanen.

Baltica 2 ist eine von zwei Stufen des Offshore-Windparks Baltica – neben Baltica 3. PGE und Ørsted planen, bis Ende 2027 Baltica 2 mit 1,5 GW Kapazität und bis 2030 Baltica 3 mit 1 GW Kapazität zu liefern. Das Projekt ist Gegenstand bis hin zur endgültigen Investitionsentscheidung. Mit Baltica 2 und Baltica 3 entsteht der Offshore-Windpark Baltica mit einer Gesamtkapazität von 2,5 GW. Es wird einen wesentlichen Beitrag zum Übergang zu grüner Energie in Polen leisten und saubere Energie für fast vier Millionen Haushalte in Polen liefern.

PGE and Ørsted signed a contract for transport and installation of monopiles for Baltica 2 project

PGE Group and Ørsted have contracted vessels to transport and install foundations for the Baltica 2 project, one of two phases of the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm.

Van Oord, the successful bidder, will transport and install 111 monopiles, the type of foundation that will be used in the construction of Baltica 2. From which 107 will serve as foundations for wind turbines, and the remaining 4 will be used as foundations for offshore substations.

“We consistently conclude further contracts with global companies from the offshore industry for the installation of all components for the Baltica 2 project. We have already chartered vessels for the installation of turbines and cables, and now also a fleet that will install the foundations that commence the construction of the offshore wind farm. The start of installation of monopiles is scheduled for 2026, while first electricity from Baltica 2 will flow to consumers a year later,” said Arkadiusz Sekściński, President of the Management Board at PGE Baltica, the company implementing the offshore program of the PGE Group.

“Ørsted has 30 years of experience developing, sourcing, constructing and operating offshore wind farms, and together with PGE we’re committed to delivering offshore wind energy to Poland at large scale. In 2023 we finalized contracts for the supply of all components for the offshore part of the Baltica 2 project, and we already have the last contracts ahead of us, which bring us closer to the realization of this strategic project for offshore wind energy in Poland,” said Agata Staniewska-Bolesta, Managing Director of Ørsted Offshore Poland.

Van Oord is a leading international contractor with more than 150 years of experience in marine engineering and Offshore projects. For the transportation and installation of foundations for the Baltica 2 project, Van Oord will mobilize two offshore installation vessels, Aeolus and Svanen.

Baltica 2 is one of two stages of the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm – next to Baltica 3. PGE and Ørsted plan to deliver Baltica 2 of 1.5 GW capacity by the end of 2027 and Baltica 3 of 1 GW capacity by 2030. The project is subject to final investment decision. Baltica 2 and Baltica 3 will create the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm of 2,5 GW total capacity. It will contribute significantly to Poland’s green energy transition, delivering clean energy for nearly four million households in Poland.
