NKT bereitet sich auf grünes Wachstum in Polen vor

(WK-intern) – Offshore-Windkraft nimmt in Polen Fahrt auf und NKT erweitert nun seine Präsenz im Land mit einem lokalen Execution Hub und bereitet sich auf die Marktchancen vor, die durch die grüne Transformation in Polen getrieben werden.

In Polen nimmt der Übergang zu erneuerbaren Energien Fahrt auf und NKT erweitert nun seine lokale Präsenz mit einem Ausführungszentrum, um sich auf die wachsende Nachfrage nach On- und Offshore-Stromkabeln vorzubereiten.

Das Zentrum wird sich in Gdynia, Polen, nahe der Ostsee befinden, wo mehrere Offshore-Windparks errichtet werden sollen. Für NKT ist die Investition in den neuen polnischen Standort ein natürlicher Schritt in seinem langfristigen Engagement im Land.

Das Unternehmen bereitet sich darauf vor, Polen beim Übergang zu erneuerbaren Energien zu unterstützen, angetrieben durch das nationale Ziel, bis 2040 bis zu 11 GW Offshore-Windkapazität in der Ostsee zu installieren. NKT ist mit seinen Hochspannungsanlagen in Karlskrona, Schweden, und Köln, Deutschland.

NKT geht davon aus, bis Ende 2021 die ersten Stromkabelverbinder einzustellen und wird zusätzliche Mitarbeiter für das Ausführungszentrum einstellen, da sich in den kommenden Jahren potenzielle Marktchancen mit den ersten Offshore-Windprojekten ergeben.

Mit zwei bestehenden Produktionsstandorten in Polen, die auf Baudrähte, Niederspannungskabel und PVC-Compounds spezialisiert sind, ist NKT auch gut aufgestellt, um die wachsende Nachfrage nach Stromkabeln aufgrund der erwarteten Verstärkung des polnischen Stromnetzes zu decken.

The transition to renewable energy is taking off in Poland and NKT is now expanding its local presence with an execution centre to prepare for a growing demand for both on- and offshore power cables. The centre will be located in Gdynia, Poland, close to the Baltic Sea where several offshore wind farms are expected to be located. For NKT, the investment in the new Polish facility is a natural step in its long-term engagement in the country.

The company is preparing to support Poland in the country’s transition to renewable energy driven by a national ambition to install up to 11 GW of offshore wind capacity in the Baltic Sea by 2040. NKT expects to hire the first power cable jointers by the end of 2021 and will hire additional people to the execution centre as the potential market opportunities emerge with the first offshore wind projects materializing in the coming years.
