Daniel Badman zum neuen CEO des schwedischen Windenergieverbandes ernannt

Daniel Badman appointed as new CEO of the Swedish Wind Energy Association

(WK-intern) – The board of directors at the Swedish Wind Energy Association has decided on Daniel Badman as new CEO.

He will join the association on December 1st at the latest. Daniel currently works as Senior Vice President of Public Affairs at the forest industry group Stora Enso.

  • Daniel’s background is very interesting as wind power moves toward becoming a pillar of the energy system. I want to wish him a warm welcome and am looking forward to working with him, says Linda Burenius, chair of the Swedish Wind Energy Association.

As CEO, Daniel’s main missions are to represent the collective voice of the wind power industry, further reinforce wind power’s position, and not least accelerate the transition to a 100 percent renewable electricity system. Already within three years, wind power will constitute a third of the total electricity consumption in Sweden.

  • The access to renewable electricity at a low cost is a precondition to the electrification of the transport and industry sectors, and can furthermore attract new businesses to Sweden. Moving forward, Daniel’s competence and network of contacts will be valuable, says Linda Burenius.

Daniel Badman will replace the current CEO Charlotte Unger Larson who vacates the position this autumn. He is looking forward to his new role as a representative of the wind power industry.

Daniel Badman utsedd till ny vd för Svensk Vindenergi

Styrelsen i branschorganisationen Svensk Vindenergi har beslutat att utse Daniel Badman till ny vd. Han tillträder tjänsten senast den 1 december 2020. Daniel kommer från skogsindustrikoncernen Stora Enso där han idag arbetar som Public Affairs-chef.

– Daniels bakgrund inom tung industri är mycket intressant när vindkraften går mot att bli en bas i energisystemet. Jag vill hälsa honom varmt välkommen och jag ser verkligen fram emot att få arbeta tillsammans med honom, säger Linda Burenius, styrelseordförande för Svensk Vindenergi.

Som vd får Daniel det huvudsakliga uppdraget att representera vindkraftsbranschens samlade röst, ytterligare förstärka vindkraftens position i samhället och inte minst accelerera omställningen mot ett 100 procent förnybart elsystem. Redan inom tre år motsvarar vindkraften omkring en tredjedel av den totala elanvändningen i Sverige.

– Den goda tillgången på förnybar el till låg kostnad är en förutsättning för elektrifieringen av transportsektorn och industrin och kan dessutom attrahera nya företag till Sverige. På vägen framåt blir Daniels kompetens och kontaktnät mycket värdefullt, säger Linda Burenius.

Daniel Badman ersätter nuvarande vd Charlotte Unger Larson som avslutar sin tjänst under hösten. Han ser fram emot sitt nya uppdrag som representant för vindkraftsbranschen.

– Jag är glad för styrelsens förtroende att leda Svensk Vindenergi. Det ska bli spännande att tillsammans med kansliet och medlemsföretagen driva på för goda förutsättningar och fortsatt tillväxt i branschen. Med erfarenhet från industrin och departementsvärlden är det inspirerade att få jobba för att Svensk Vindenergi fortsatt är en viktig röst i samhällsdebatten, säger Daniel Badman, f.n. Public Affairs-chef på Stora Enso.
