The order includes supply, delivery, and commissioning of the turbines, as well as a multi-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement, designed to ensure optimised performance of the asset. Turbine delivery begins in the second quarter of 2025 with commissioning scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025. Vestas wins 125 MW order in Italy Vestas has received a 125 MW order for a wind park located in Italy. The contract includes the supply and installation of ten V136-4.5 MW wind turbines and 19 V136-4.2 MW wind turbines, as well as an Active Output Management 4000 (AOM 4000) agreement. This is the largest order for a single wind project ever received by Vestas in Italy. Turbine delivery is scheduled for the first quarter of 2025, while commissioning is expected to take place in the third quarter of 2025. Vestas is the main contributor to the expansion of wind energy in Italy, with 5.2 GW of installed wind capacity. Vestas wins 42 MW repowering project in former mining area in Germany Vestas has received a firm order from WindStrom Erneuerbare Energien GmbH & Co.KG for the Schacht Konrad II repowering project in Salzgitter, Lower Saxony. The project is located in a former iron ore mining area that is intended to be reused for renewable energy production. The order consists of four V162-6.2 MW and three V162-5.6 MW wind turbines and will replace the legacy turbines currently powering the site, which will increase the energy output and extend the lifetime of the project site. Upon completion, Vestas will service the turbines under a 20-years Active Output Management 4000 (AOM 4000) service agreement designed to ensure optimised performance of the assets. “The Schacht Konrad II repowering project is one of a kind in terms of infrastructure, taking advantage of the former iron ore mining area’s perfect wind speeds for our EnVentus fleet”, states Sulai Fahimi, Vestas Vice President Sales Central. “This is a great example for the German energy market’s rapid transformation from fossils to renewables. We are delighted to be the chosen supplier for this repowering project, and I am looking forward to seeing this project being executed with our trusted customer WindStrom”. “We built and commissioned the first wind turbine in the Schacht Konrad wind farm in 2000. Now, with the repowering, the second generation of wind turbines is being erected in this area, which will supply renewable electricity over the coming decades with a 4 to 5-fold increase in output,” says Christoph Schramke, managing director at WindStrom Erneuerbare Energien. “Thanks to the reliable and uncomplicated co-operation with the immission control authority of the city of Salzgitter, it was possible to obtain approval for this project within eight months. The trusting and cooperative relationship with the landowners, which has existed for 20 years, also contributed significantly to the success of the project. Finally, we have a long-standing, reliable relationship with Vestas with which we can now realise the next generation of turbines.” Turbine delivery is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2025 with commissioning scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2025. Vestas wins 37 MW order in Spain Vestas has received a 37 MW order for a wind park in Spain. The contract includes the supply and installation of six V162-6.2 MW wind turbines and a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) agreement. Turbine delivery is scheduled for the second half of 2024, while commissioning is expected to take place in the first half of 2025. Vestas has installed over 5.2 GW of wind energy across more than 140 wind parks in Spain since installing the first turbine in 1991. Vestas wins 63 MW order in South Africa Vestas has received a 63 MW order for a wind park in South Africa. The contract includes the supply and installation of 14 V150-4.5 MW wind turbines, as well as a 20-year Active Output Management 4000 (AOM 4000) service agreement. Turbine delivery is expected by the first half of 2024 and commissioning is planned for the last quarter of the same year. Vestas leads the South African wind power market with over 1.4 GW of capacity either installed or under construction. Vestas selected as preferred supplier for the 390 MW Shinan Ui offshore wind project in South Korea Vestas has signed a preferred supplier agreement with Hanwha Corporation E&C Division for the 390 MW Shinan Ui offshore wind project in Shinan County, South Jeolla Province, South Korea. The project is developed by Shinan Ui Offshore Wind, a special purpose company established by Hanwha Corporation E&C Division, SK D&D, and KOEN. If the project materialises, it will feature 26 units of V236-15.0 MW turbines, which will be installed on fixed foundations in the southeastern waters of Ui Island. Vestas will also deliver 20 years of operation and maintenance service for the wind farm when it becomes operational. “We are honoured that our Korean partners, Hanwha Corporation E&C Division, have placed their trust in us and selected us as preferred turbine supplier for the project. We are very much looking forward to working with the customers and providing our V236-15.0 MW offshore turbines for the project.” said Purvin Patel, President of Vestas Asia Pacific. “By further expanding the deployment of our flagship offshore turbine model, V236-15.0 MW, we will actively contribute to the realisation of a decarbonised society of South Korea and continue as a leader in offshore wind”. Nam Cheol Lee, Head of Wind Power Business at Hanwha Corporation E&C Division, said, „We plan to strengthen our position as a leading company in the field of renewable energy by carrying out large-scale wind power projects that require high quality technology. We expect to expand our business to 3 GW by 2030 based on our accumulated know-how and technology in the wind power generation business“. The V236-15.0 MW offshore wind turbine is built on proven, world-class technology and engineered for efficiency in offshore environments around the world. Vestas has won more than 2.8 GW of firm orders for the V236-15.0 MW for which it secured type certificate in November 2023, and will begin serial production in 2024. If and when the agreement materialises in a firm and unconditional order for Vestas, it will enter into Vestas’ wind turbine order backlog.
