Midsummer unterzeichnet LOI mit führendem nordischen Dachdecker- und Bauunternehmen für die Lieferung von 300 MW Solarmodulen

(WK-intern) – Der schwedische Solarenergieführer Midsummer hat mit einem der führenden europäischen Hersteller und Anbieter von wasserdichten Produkten und Dienstleistungen für Gebäude und Infrastruktur eine Absichtserklärung (Letter of Intent, LOI) für die Lieferung von über 300 MW an Solarmodulen über fünf Jahre ab dem nächsten Jahr unterzeichnet.

„Dies ist unser bisher mit Abstand größter Einzelabnahmevertrag und ein weiterer Beweis dafür, wie attraktiv unsere Dünnschicht-Solarzellen für die stromproduzierenden Dächer der Zukunft sind“, kommentiert Sven Lindström, CEO von Midsummer.

„Die Produktion aus unseren neuen und geplanten Mega-Fabriken läuft in rasantem Tempo.“

Gemäß dieser neuen Absichtserklärung wird Midsummer in den Jahren 2023 bis 2027 mindestens 303 MW Solarmodule an diesen nordeuropäischen Player liefern. Insgesamt hat Midsummer jetzt Abnahmeverträge für den Vorverkauf von mehr als 700 MW unterzeichnet Solarmodule, die aus neuen und geplanten Megafabriken geliefert werden sollen, für die Midsummer derzeit nach Finanzierung sucht.

In einem ersten Schritt strebt Midsummer an, die jährliche Produktionskapazität um 20 MW zu erweitern, mit einem möglichen Scale-up auf 200 MW. Darüber hinaus wird die Fabrik in Bari, Italien, die Midsummer fertigstellt, über eine Produktionskapazität von 50 MW verfügen, von der ein großer Teil bereits durch Vereinbarungen mit einer Reihe italienischer Bau- und Dachunternehmen belegt ist.

Im November gab Midsummer die Unterzeichnung von zehn Absichtserklärungen für insgesamt knapp über 330 MW Solarzellen bekannt, siehe hier und hier.

Die Dünnschicht-Solarzellen von Midsummer werden mit intern entwickelten, weltweit führenden Maschinen hergestellt. Das Unternehmen besitzt die gesamte Wertschöpfungskette und die Technologie, Prozesse und Geschäfte haben sich nach jahrzehntelanger Erfahrung als Hersteller einzigartiger Produktionslinien sowie von Solarmodulen und Solardächern kommerziell bewährt.

Midsummer signs LOI with leading Nordic roofing and construction player for the supply of 300 MW of solar panels

Swedish solar energy leader Midsummer has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with one of Europe’s leading producers and suppliers of waterproofing products and services for buildings and infrastructure for the delivery of over 300 MW of solar panels over five years starting next year.

“This is by far our largest single offtake agreement to date and further proof of how attractive our thin film solar cells are for the electricity-producing roofs of the future,” comments Midsummer’s CEO Sven Lindström. “The production from our new and planned mega factories are being taken at a rapid pace.”

According to this new letter of intent, Midsummer will deliver at least 303 MW of solar panels to this northern European player in the years 2023 through 2027. In total, Midsummer has now signed offtake agreements for the pre-sale of more than 700 MW of solar panels to be delivered from is new and planned mega-factories that Midsummer is currently seeking finance for.

In a first step, Midsummer seeks to expand annual production capacity by 20 MW, with a possible scale-up to 200 MW. In addition, the factory in Bari, Italy that Midsummer is completing will have a production capacity of 50 MW, a large part of which is already taken through agreements with a number of Italian construction and roof companies.
