Principle Power unterzeichnet Absichtserklärung mit der Werft HSG Sungdong, um die Serienproduktion schwimmender WindFloat®-Windfundamente in Korea voranzutreiben

• Weltweit erste Massenproduktion schwimmender Offshore-Windkraft-Unterkonstruktionen

(WK-intern) – Principle Power hat eine nicht exklusive Absichtserklärung (Memorandum of Understanding, MoU) mit HSG Sungdong unterzeichnet, um bei technischen Entwicklungen für die Massenproduktion und Montage von WindFloat®-Technologien zusammenzuarbeiten.

Die Vereinbarung fördert die Entwicklung einer nachhaltigen inländischen Lieferkette in Südkorea und unterstützt das Ziel des Landes, bis 2030 eine Offshore-Windkapazität von 14,3 GW zu erreichen.

Um ihr Ziel von 14,3 GW Offshore-Windenergie zu erreichen, hat die koreanische Regierung ein jährliches Auktionssystem eingeführt, das Festpreisverträge für Offshore-Windenergieprojekte anbietet und einen REC-Multiplikatormechanismus enthält, der dazu beitragen soll, eine inländische schwimmende Offshore-Windenergieindustrie aufzubauen. Regierungsauktionen für die ersten schwimmenden Projekte in Korea sind für das dritte Quartal 2024 geplant. Entwickler und die Lieferkette sind entschlossen, schwimmende Offshore-Windenergiekapazitäten aufzubauen, vorausgesetzt, die Abnahmebedingungen werden durch realistische Preisniveaus unterstützt und nationale Richtlinien und Vorschriften ermöglichen es, Projekte nach einem vorhersehbaren Zeitplan voranzutreiben.

Principle Power signs MoU with shipyard HSG Sungdong to advance serial manufacturing of WindFloat® floating wind foundations in Korea

Principle Power has signed a non-exclusive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HSG Sungdong to cooperate on engineering developments for mass production and assembly of WindFloat® technologies. The agreement furthers the development of a sustainable domestic supply chain in South Korea and supports the country’s ambition to achieve 14.3 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2030.

To achieve its 14.3 GW offshore wind goal, the Korean government has implemented an annual auction system offering fixed-price contracts for offshore wind projects that includes REC multiplier mechanism designed to help launch a domestic floating offshore wind industry. Government auctions are scheduled for Q3 2024 for the first floating projects in Korea. Developers and the supply chain are committed to establishing floating offshore wind capacity provided that off-take award conditions are supported by realistic price levels and national policies and regulations allow projects to progress on a predictable schedule.
