Der Geodatenspezialist Fugro gab die Eröffnung seines neuen geotechnischen Prüflabors in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, bekannt.

(WK-intern) – Das neue Labor wird die Fähigkeit von Fugro stärken, fortschrittliche geotechnische Tests für den Offshore-Windkraftmarkt sowie den Energie- und Infrastruktursektor durchzuführen.

Es wird erwartet, dass das neue Labor die Laborkapazität von Fugro im asiatisch-pazifischen Raum um 20 % erhöht und die Durchlaufzeit für Tests um mindestens 30 % verkürzt.

Bodentestdienste sind von entscheidender Bedeutung, um die Standortbedingungen für die Gründungsplanung von Offshore-Windparks zu verstehen.

Im Jahr 2020 wurde Fugro IOVTEC als Joint Venture mit der IOVTEC Co., Ltd. gegründet, um die Geschäftsausweitung von Fugro auf Taiwans sich schnell entwickelndem Offshore-Windmarkt zu unterstützen. Fugro verfügt nun über drei fortschrittliche Testlabore im asiatisch-pazifischen Raum, darunter Australien, Singapur und Taiwan.

Das taiwanesische Labor von Fugro IOVTEC wird das erste Labor sein, das gemäß der Norm ISO 17892 der Taiwan Accreditation Foundation (TAF) akkreditiert ist.

Fugro IOVTEC opens geotechnical testing laboratory in Taiwan

Geo-data specialist Fugro announced the opening of its new geotechnical testing laboratory in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The new lab will bolster Fugro’s capability to deliver advanced geotechnical testing for the offshore wind market and the energy and infrastructure sectors.

The new laboratory is expected to increase Fugro’s lab capacity in Asia Pacific by 20% and reduce the turnaround time on testing by at least 30%. Soil testing services are critical to understand the site conditions for the foundation design of offshore wind farms.

In 2020, Fugro IOVTEC was established as a joint venture with the IOVTEC Co., Ltd to support Fugro’s business expansion in Taiwan’s rapidly developing offshore wind market. Fugro now boasts three advanced testing laboratories in the Asia Pacific region, including Australia, Singapore, and Taiwan.
