Koskenkorva-Brennerei soll mit lokaler Windkraft betrieben werden

(WK-intern) – Fortum und Anora haben einen Windenergie-Liefervertrag für den Windpark Kalax in Närpiö unterzeichnet.

Der Deal wird es ermöglichen, bis zur Hälfte des von Anora in der Brennerei Koskenkorva verbrauchten Stroms durch lokale Windkraft zu ersetzen.

Die vereinbarte Zusammenarbeit wird von 2023 bis 2025 fortgesetzt.

Windkraft ist eine der wichtigsten erneuerbaren Energiequellen der Zukunft, und die Bedingungen für die Windstromerzeugung in Finnland sind hervorragend. Der Windpark Kalax mit einer Gesamtleistung von 90 MW wurde 2021 in Betrieb genommen und besteht aus 21 Windturbinen.

Diese Windkraftvereinbarung ist eine natürliche Fortsetzung der früheren Investitionen in die Kreislaufwirtschaft und Bioenergie, die die Emissionen in der Brennerei Koskenkorva reduzieren. Wir arbeiten schon lange mit Fortum zusammen und diese Vereinbarung vertieft unsere Zusammenarbeit auf natürliche Weise“, sagt Miika Jokinen, Business Unit Director, Industrial Products & Services, von Anora.

Die Bioenergieanlage von Anora hat die Emissionen des Werks Koskenkorva seit 2014 bereits um rund 60 Prozent reduziert. Geothermische Energie macht mittlerweile 70 Prozent der Energie aus, die im norwegischen Werk Gjelleråsen von Anora verbraucht wird. In der Destillerie Koskenkorva im Dorf Koskenkorva in Südösterbotten, Finnland, wird Getreidebrand nach den Prinzipien der Kreislaufwirtschaft hergestellt, dank derer Anora 2018 der Titel „Green Company of the Year“ verliehen wurde.

Der strategische Fokus von Fortum liegt auf dem Wachstum in der emissionsfreien Stromerzeugung und dem Aufbau von Partnerschaften mit Industrie- und Infrastrukturkunden. Fortum will seine Solar- und Windkraftkapazität auf mehrere Gigawatt erhöhen.

Koskenkorva distillery to run on local wind power

Fortum and Anora have signed a wind power supply agreement regarding the Kalax wind farm in Närpiö. The deal will allow up to half of the electricity used by Anora at the Koskenkorva distillery to be replaced by local wind power. The agreed-upon collaboration will continue through 2023–2025.

Wind power is one of the most important sources of renewable energy for the future, and the conditions for wind power production in Finland are excellent. The Kalax wind farm, with a total capacity of 90 MW, was commissioned in 2021 and consists of 21 wind turbines.

Anora’s bioenergy plant has already reduced the emissions from the Koskenkorva plant by around 60 per cent since 2014. Meanwhile, geothermal energy accounts for 70 per cent of the energy used by Anora’s Gjelleråsen plant in Norway. At the Koskenkorva distillery – situated the village of Koskenkorva in Southern Ostrobothnia, Finland – grain spirit is produced following the principles of the circular economy, thanks to which Anora was awarded the title of Green Company of the Year in 2018.

Fortum’s strategic focus is on growth in zero-emission power generation and the building of partnerships with industrial and infrastructure customers. Fortum aims to increase its solar and wind power capacity to several gigawatts.
