Fugro bringt seine neue Generation unbemannter Überwasserschiffe in den Niederlanden auf den Markt

(WK-intern) – Fugros Blue Essence, ein Offshore-zertifiziertes unbemanntes Überwasserschiff (USV) mit einem elektrisch ferngesteuerten Fahrzeug (eROV), wird sein erstes Projekt in den Niederlanden beginnen.

Während des Betriebs wird das Schiff von einem Onshore Remote Operations Center (ROC) über eine Satellitenverbindung gesteuert und wird für die Inspektion von Offshore-Anlagen, Bauunterstützungsdienste sowie hydrographische und geophysikalische Untersuchungen verwendet.

USVs spielen eine wichtige Rolle in der Zukunft des maritimen Sektors, indem sie die Sicherheit verbessern, die CO2-Emissionen reduzieren und Daten effizienter bereitstellen. USV-Operationen bringen Personal aus Hochrisiko-Offshore-Umgebungen in ein Onshore-ROC und reduzieren den CO2-Fußabdruck im Vergleich zu herkömmlichen Erhebungsmethoden um 95 %. Die Cloud-basierte Datenverarbeitung ermöglicht eine Datenlieferung nahezu in Echtzeit, was zu einer schnelleren und fundierteren Entscheidungsfindung führt.

Es ist das erste Mal, dass ein ferngesteuertes Schiff ohne Besatzung vom Rotterdamer Hafen in die Nordsee fährt, um ein Projekt ohne Personal an Bord durchzuführen. Fugro launches its new generation of uncrewed surface vessels in the Netherlands

Fugro’s Blue Essence, an offshore certified uncrewed surface vessel (USV) with an electric remotely operated vehicle (eROV), will begin its first project in the Netherlands. During operations the vessel is controlled from an onshore remote operations centre (ROC) via a satellite connection and will be used for the inspection of offshore assets, construction support services, and hydrographic and geophysical surveys.

USVs play an important role in the future of the maritime sector by improving safety, reducing carbon emissions, and delivering data more efficiently. USV operations remove personnel from high-risk offshore environments to an onshore ROC and reduce carbon footprint by 95 % when compared to traditional survey methods. Cloud-based data processing allows near real-time data delivery, leading to faster and more informed decision making.

It’s the first time a remotely controlled uncrewed vessel will go to the North Sea from the port of Rotterdam to carry out a project without any personnel on board.
