RWE und Smålandshamnar AB erkunden gemeinsam das Potenzial des Hafens von Oskarshamn, ein Offshore-Wind-Hub in der Ostsee zu werden

(WK-intern) – RWE, ein weltweit führendes Unternehmen im Bereich Offshore-Wind, und Smålandshamnar AB, das den schwedischen Hafen von Oskarshamn betreibt, haben eine Absichtserklärung (MoU) unterzeichnet.

Ziel dieser Zusammenarbeit ist es, zu untersuchen, ob der Hafen ein geeigneter Hafen für die Logistik-, Installations-, Lade-, Betriebs- und Wartungsaktivitäten im Zusammenhang mit den geplanten Offshore-Windprojekten von RWE in der Ostsee sein könnte.

In einem ersten Schritt werden die Partner die Anforderungen und notwendigen Ausbauten und Investitionen abbilden, um die Ausweitung der Hafenkapazität zu erleichtern. Eine frühzeitige Umsetzung der Hafenkapazität wird sicherstellen, dass Schweden gut aufgestellt ist, um das Potenzial der Offshore-Windindustrie voll auszuschöpfen. Diese Zusammenarbeit zeigt ein klares Bekenntnis zum Austausch von Wissen und Fachwissen und unterstützt so das breitere industrielle Wachstum in Schweden. Darüber hinaus arbeitet RWE auch mit dem Hafen von Karlshamn zusammen und hat Anfang Mai eine ähnliche Absichtserklärung unterzeichnet.

RWE and Smålandshamnar AB team up to explore Port of Oskarshamn’s potential to become Baltic Sea offshore wind hub

RWE, a global leader in offshore wind, and Smålandshamnar AB, which operates the Swedish Port of Oskarshamn, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The aim of this collaboration is to explore whether the port could be a suitable harbour for the logistics, installation, loading, operations and maintenance activities relating to RWE’s planned offshore wind projects in the Baltic Sea. In a first step, the partners will map the requirements and necessary build-outs and investments to facilitate scaling-up the port’s capacity. An early implementation of port capacity will ensure that Sweden is well placed to maximise the potential of the offshore wind industry. This collaboration demonstrates a clear commitment to sharing knowledge and expertise, thus supporting broader industrial growth in Sweden. Furthermore, RWE is also partnering with the Port of Karlshamn, having signed a similar MoU in early May.
