IMCA DEMYSTIFIZIERT DEN AMERIKANISCHEN OFFSHORE WORKERS FAIRNESS ACT

(WK-intern) – Die International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) veröffentlichte am 14. März 2022 eine ausführliche Informationsnotiz zu den vom Kongress vorgeschlagenen Besatzungsbeschränkungen für Schiffe, die zur Unterstützung von US-Offshore-Energieprojekten eingesetzt werden.

Der Vorschlag wurde am 29. März 2022 vom Repräsentantenhaus verabschiedet – der American Offshore Worker Fairness Act, Section 518 des Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2022 (H.R 6865).

Diese Maßnahme ist nun vor dem US-Senat anhängig.

„Es gibt noch viel mehr zu verstehen in Bezug auf das Potenzial dieser vorgeschlagenen Gesetzgebung, und es gibt viele Ungenauigkeiten im Zusammenhang mit der angeblichen Begründung für die Notwendigkeit der Verabschiedung dieser Gesetzgebung“, erklärte Allen Leatt, Chief Executive von IMCA. „IMCA hat ein umfassendes Informationsblatt erstellt, um die wichtigsten Mythen bezüglich dieser vorgeschlagenen Gesetzgebung zu entmystifizieren, siehe den Link unten.

IMCA DEMYSTIFIES THE AMERICAN OFFSHORE WORKERS FAIRNESS ACT

The International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) published a detailed Information Note on 14 March 2022 on Congressionally proposed manning constraints applicable to vessels operating in support of U.S. offshore energy projects. The proposal was passed by the House of Representatives on 29 March 2022 – the American Offshore Worker Fairness Act, Section 518 of the Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2022 (H.R 6865). This measure is now pending before the U.S. Senate. 

“There remains much more to comprehend regarding the potential of this proposed legislation and there are many inaccuracies related to the purported rationale for the need for enactment of this legislation,” explained IMCA’s Chief Executive, Allen Leatt. “IMCA has prepared a comprehensive fact sheet to demystify key myths regarding this proposed legislation, see the link below.
