Der Ringkran PTC210-DS wird für die umfassende A-Frame-Modernisierung des Van Oord-Schwerlastinstallationsschiffs Svanen eingesetzt

(WK-intern) – Einer der größten Kräne der Welt, der Mammoet PTC210-DS, wird in Kürze das Heben eines riesigen A-Rahmens für das Schwerlastinstallationsschiff Svanen von Van Oord übernehmen.

Die Wahl fiel auf den kolossalen Kran der 3.200-Tonnen-Klasse mit 210.000 tm, da er einer der wenigen Krane auf der Welt ist, der diese Aufgabe erfüllen kann, und vor Ort verfügbar war.

Mit dem Wachstum von Offshore-Windkraftanlagen, um eine höhere Effizienz zu erreichen, wachsen auch ihre Komponenten. Das Upgrade auf den größeren A-Frame wird es der Svanen ermöglichen, Monopile-Fundamente der neuen Generation auf See zu installieren.

Der Rahmen besteht aus drei Hauptkomponenten, die von Holland Shipyards hergestellt und von Mammoet zu seinem Hauptsitz am Kai in Schiedam, Niederlande, bewegt, gehoben und transportiert wurden.

Dort werden die verschiedenen Komponenten des A-Rahmens zusammengebaut und dann mit 64 Achslinien von Mammoet Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs) 66 Meter entlang der Küste gefahren, damit das PTC den Hub durchführen kann.

Durch den fertiggestellten A-Frame erhöht sich die Gesamthöhe des Svanen auf 125 Meter.

Die Konfiguration des PTC zur Durchführung des Hubs umfasst 105 Meter Hauptausleger und 66 Meter Wippspitze, wobei mehr als 4.000 Tonnen Gegengewicht im Einsatz sind.

Die Montage des Rahmens dauert im April und Mai nur eine Woche. Die Effizienz des Projekts beruht auf der Verfügbarkeit des Krans in Rotterdam und der Tatsache, dass der A-Rahmen als einzelne Einheit angehoben werden kann.

Julian Alkemade, Projektmanager bei Mammoet, sagte:

„Diese beiden einzigartigen Ausrüstungsgegenstände befinden sich zur gleichen Zeit am selben Ort. Die Hubfähigkeiten und der Standort des PTC werden die Ausfallzeiten des Schiffes erheblich verkürzen.

Normalerweise kann die Planung eines solchen Projekts etwa ein Jahr dauern, aber hier hat es aufgrund der Verfügbarkeit des Krans und seiner einzigartigen Fähigkeiten als einer der größten der Welt nur ein paar Monate gedauert.“

One of the largest cranes in the world, the Mammoet PTC210-DS, will shortly undertake the lift of a huge A-Frame for the Van Oord-owned heavy lift installation vessel, Svanen.

The colossal 210,000tm, 3,200t class crane was chosen as it is one of the few cranes in the world capable of performing the job, and was available locally.

As offshore wind turbines grow to achieve greater efficiency, so too are their components. The upgrade to the larger A-Frame will enable the Svanen to install new generation monopile foundations at sea.

The frame is made up of three main components, which were fabricated by Holland Shipyards and were moved, lifted and transported by Mammoet to its quayside headquarters in Schiedam, The Netherlands.

There, the different components of the A-frame will be assembled and then driven 66 meters along the waterfront using 64 axle lines of Mammoet Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs), ready for the PTC to perform the lift.

The completed A-Frame will increase the total height of the Svanen to 125 meters.

The configuration of the PTC to perform the lift will be 105 meters of main boom and 66 meters of luffing jib, with more than 4,000 tonnes of counterweight in use.

Installation of the frame will take just one week during April and May. The efficiency of the project is due to the crane’s availability in Rotterdam and the fact that the A-Frame can be lifted as a single unit.
