Die Top-ESG-Bewertung von S&P Global Ratings von Siemens Gamesa zeigt sein Engagement für die Energiewende

(WK-intern) – Das Unternehmen, der einzige Windturbinenhersteller, der diese Bewertung von S&P erhalten hat, erreichte eine Punktzahl von 83/100 und belegt Platz 2 in Spanien und Platz 12 weltweit

S&P umreißt die Schlüsselrolle von Siemens Gamesa bei der Unterstützung der Dekarbonisierung des Energiesystems und der Bereitstellung von Produkten zur Bewältigung von Herausforderungen wie dem Klingenrecycling

Siemens Gamesa hat in der S&P ESG-Bewertung eine Punktzahl von 83 von 100 erreicht und liegt damit auf Platz 2 in Spanien und auf Platz 12 weltweit unter den öffentlichen ESG-Bewertungen. Siemens Gamesa, das bereits im vergangenen Jahr von S&P bewertet wurde, ist der einzige Hersteller von Windenergieanlagen, der diese Bewertung erhalten hat.

Diese Ergebnisse verdeutlichen das Engagement von Siemens Gamesa für die grüne Energiewende, die S&P in seiner ESG-Bewertung umreißt: „Die ESG-Bewertung von 83 spiegelt unsere Ansicht wider, dass Siemens Gamesa ein wichtiger Akteur ist, der die systematische Dekarbonisierung des Energiesystems unterstützt und Produkte bereitstellt bis hin zu branchenweiten Herausforderungen wie dem Recycling von Rotorblättern, das durch die Herstellung des weltweit ersten recycelbaren Rotorblatts für den kommerziellen Offshore-Einsatz als erstes erreicht wurde.“

S&P weist in seiner ESG-Bewertung auch darauf hin, dass „Siemens Gamesa gut vorbereitet ist, um von der wachsenden Nachfrage im Bereich der erneuerbaren Energien zu profitieren“ und dass es „von seiner einzigartigen Position profitiert, die die robusten Forschungs- und Entwicklungskapazitäten des Unternehmens ermöglicht, die seine Investitionen in technologische Spitzenlösungen.“ Die Bewertung bezieht sich auf den Start des Mistral-Programms, von dem „wir erwarten, dass es dem Unternehmen ermöglichen wird, seine Führungsposition zu behaupten und durch Innovation, Produktivität und Qualitätsstandards nachhaltiges und profitables Wachstum zu erzielen.“

Die ESG-Bewertung von S&P analysiert die Leistung eines Unternehmens in Bezug auf ökologische, soziale und Governance-Risiken und -Chancen. Diese drei Bereiche werden im Bericht von S&P über Siemens Gamesa analysiert und das Unternehmen schneidet in allen drei Bereichen gut ab.

In Bezug auf die Umwelt skizziert S&P die ehrgeizigen Ziele von Siemens Gamesa, die teilweise weiter fortgeschritten sind als die der Wettbewerber, wie z. B. die Recyclingfähigkeit der Produkte des Unternehmens. Im sozialen Profil weist die S&P ESG-Bewertung darauf hin, dass „die Personalstrategie von Siemens Gamesa darauf abzielt, die Mitarbeiter zu Innovationen zu befähigen und die Geschlechtervielfalt zu verbessern, die stärker ist als der Durchschnitt der Windturbinenhersteller.“ Im Bereich Governance hebt der Bericht hervor, dass „der Werterahmen von Siemens Gamesa robust ist und globalen Standards entspricht“ und dass die „finanziellen und nicht-finanziellen Offenlegungen des Unternehmens internationalen Best Practices entsprechen“.

Das Unternehmen wurde von FTSE Russell und ISS ESG auf Platz 1 der Branche und von Moody`s ESG Solution (ehemals Vigeo Eiris) und S&P Global´s Corporate Sustainability Assessment auf Platz 2 eingestuft. Außerdem ist es Teil der Top-Rated-Liste von Sustainalytics und erreicht das 97. Perzentil in seiner Branche.

Siemens Gamesa’s top S&P Global Ratings ESG Evaluation showcases its commitment to energy transition

The company, the only wind turbine manufacturer to receive this evaluation from S&P, achieved a score of 83/100 and is ranked #2 in Spain and #12 worldwide
S&P outlines Siemens Gamesa’s key role in supporting the decarbonization of the energy system and providing products to tackle challenges such as blade recycling

Siemens Gamesa has achieved a score of 83 out of 100 in the S&P ESG Evaluation, placing it #2 in Spain and #12 in the world among public ESG evaluations. Siemens Gamesa, which was already evaluated last year by S&P, is the only wind turbine manufacturer to receive this evaluation.

These results showcase Siemens Gamesa’s commitment to the green energy transition, which is outlined by S&P in its ESG Evaluation: “The ESG Evaluation of 83 reflects our view of Siemens Gamesa as a key player is supporting the systematic decarbonization of the energy system and providing products to industry-wide challenges such as the recycling of blades, which it was the first to achieve through the manufacture of the world’s first recyclable rotor blade for commercial use offshore.”

S&P also indicates in its ESG evaluation that “Siemens Gamesa is well prepared to benefit from growing demand in the renewable energies sector” and that it “benefits from its unique position that enables the company’s robust research and development capacity, which will support its investment in cutting-edge technological solutions.” The evaluation refers to the launch of the Mistral program that “we expect it will allow the company to remain in its leadership position and deliver sustainable and profitable growth through innovation, productivity and quality standards.”

S&P’s ESG evaluation analyzes a company’s performance in terms of environmental, social and governance risks and opportunities. These three areas are analyzed in S&P’s report about Siemens Gamesa and the company scores high in all three.

Regarding environment, S&P outlines Siemens Gamesa’s ambitious targets, which are in some cases more advanced than those of its competitors, such as the recyclability of the company’s products. In the social profile, S&P ESG Evaluation indicates that “Siemens Gamesa’s workforce strategy centers on empowering employees to innovate and improving gender diversity, which is stronger than the wind turbine manufacturers average.” In the governance area, the report highlights that “Siemens Gamesa’s values framework is robust and meets global standards” and also that the company’s “financial and non-financial disclosures are in line with international best practices.”
