Alleima hat beschlossen, seine Dampfgeneratorrohranlagen (SGT) in Sandviken, Schweden, zu erweitern.

(WK-intern) – Ziel der Investition ist es, die wachsende globale Nachfrage im Nuklearbereich zu decken. Die Fabrik wird im Jahr 2027 vollständig eröffnet und etwa 90 zusätzliche Arbeitsplätze schaffen.

Die Erweiterung, die die Sanierung und Wiedereröffnung einer der SGT-Anlagen von Alleima umfasst, wird die Kapazität erhöhen und Alleimas Fähigkeit stärken, Wachstumschancen zu nutzen, während das Unternehmen gleichzeitig seine führende Position im Bereich SGT für Kernkraftwerke in voller Größe beibehält und der führende Lieferant für Rohre für kleine modulare Reaktoren (SMR) ist.

Die Gesamtinvestition von rund 330 Millionen SEK wird zwischen 2024 und 2026 getätigt und soll die Produktionskapazität für Dampferzeugerrohre um rund 60 % steigern, wobei die Steigerung Ende 2026 beginnt.

Wir haben vor kurzem den ersten kommerziellen Auftrag für Dampferzeugerrohre für SMRs ausgeliefert und erwarten, dass diese Technologie wachsen wird, da der Bedarf an fossilfreier Energie weiter steigt. Mit dieser Anlage können wir sowohl konventionelle Kernkraftwerke als auch neue Technologien wie SMR bedienen“, sagt Göran Björkman, Präsident und CEO.

Die Anlage, die jetzt wiedereröffnet wird, wurde stillgelegt, als 2012 eine neue Fabrik eingeweiht wurde.

Alleima to increase capacity for steam generator tubing in Sandviken for the Nuclear segment

Alleima has decided to expand its steam generator tubing (SGT) facilities in Sandviken, Sweden. The ambition of the investment is to meet the growing global demand in the Nuclear segment. The factory will be fully open during 2027 and create approximately 90 additional employments.

The expansion, which includes the refurbishment and reopening of one of Alleima’s SGT facilities, will increase capacity and strengthen Alleima’s capability to seize growth opportunities, while maintaining its leading position in SGT for full scale Nuclear Power Plants and to be the frontier supplier for Small Modular Reactor (SMR) tubing.

The total investment of approximately SEK 330 million will be carried out between 2024-2026 and is expected to increase production capacity for steam generator tubes by approximately 60%, with ramp up starting at the end of 2026.

“This is a unique opportunity to increase our capacity relatively quickly and meet the demand from our customers in the Nuclear segment. We have recently delivered the first commercial order for steam generator tubes for SMRs, and we expect this technology to grow as the need for fossil free energy continues to increase. Through this facility, we will be able to serve both conventional nuclear power plants and emerging technologies like SMR,” says Göran Björkman, President and CEO.
