In October last year, the offshore logistics expert Buss Offshore Solutions started the project planning and management of logistics hub services for the offshore wind farm. The operational implementation of the project took place at the Orange Blue Terminal, located in the Netherlands. Buss Offshore Solutions was responsible for the planning and coordination of all services before and at the terminal as well as the engineering of the tower foundation. Specifically designed for the job, the foundation made it possible to provide eight complete towers to be preassembled on the terminal. In addition to other logistical and technical services, with this tower foundation Buss Offshore Solutions contributed to the optimization of the overall project. „We were pleased about the cooperation with our customer GE Renewable Energy in this project. Thanks to the constructive and continuous interchange, we were able to actively support GE Renewable Energy on its first offshore project in the German North Sea, „says Martin Schulz, CEO of Buss Offshore Solutions. The Orange Blue Terminal was in charge of preparing the terminal areas, transporting the 462 subcomponents with the terminal-own SPMT, assisting with pre-assembly of the components and towers on site, and engineering the tower foundation. For Buss Offshore Solutions, Merkur was the thirteenth major project that was successfully managed by the company. The fourteenth is already in planning. Buss Offshore Solutions and Orange Blue Terminal will be represented at the Wind Energy Expo in Hamburg’s exhibition halls together with its Joint Venture WINDEA at booth 210 in hall B4.
