Vestas sichert sich einen Festauftrag für Ecowendes Offshore-Windpark Hollandse Kust West in den Niederlanden

(WK-intern) – Der niederländische Windparkentwickler Ecowende, ein Joint Venture zwischen Shell und Eneco, hat einen Auftrag über 52 Windturbinen vom Typ V236-15,0 MW für den Windpark Ecowende am Standort VI Hollandse Kust (West) erteilt.

Nach der Installation wird Vestas den Windpark im Rahmen eines 15-jährigen Servicevertrags warten, der eine optimale Leistung der Anlagen gewährleisten soll.

Ecowende hält sich an die hohen qualitativen Kriterien, die in der nicht preisorientierten Ausschreibung der niederländischen Regierung festgelegt sind. Dazu gehört die Schaffung eines Vogelkorridors innerhalb des Windparklayouts, die Erhöhung der Nabenhöhe, um mehr vertikalen Raum für Vögel zu schaffen, sowie die Integration von Systemen zur Erkennung und Abschreckung von Vögeln und Fledermäusen in das Turbinendesign.

Das Projekt verfügt über eine Netzanschlusskapazität von 760 MW und eine Überkapazität von 20 MW, um die Anschlusskapazität auch bei geringerer Produktion möglichst effizient zu nutzen. Der Windpark wird etwa 53 Kilometer vor der niederländischen Küste in der Nähe von IJmuiden errichtet.

Die Installation der Turbinen auf See soll im zweiten Quartal 2026 beginnen. Geplant ist, den Windpark bis Ende 2026 in Betrieb zu nehmen. Mit seiner erneuerbaren Stromleistung von 760 MW kann Ecowende etwa 3 Prozent des aktuellen niederländischen Strombedarfs decken grüner.

Vestas secures a firm order for Ecowende’s Hollandse Kust West offshore wind farm in the Netherlands

The Dutch wind farm developer Ecowende, a joint venture between Shell and Eneco, has placed an order for 52 V236-15.0 MW wind turbines for the Ecowende wind farm at Hollandse Kust (west) site VI. Once installed, Vestas will service the wind farm under a 15-year service contract designed to ensure optimised performance of the assets.

Ecowende adheres to the high qualitative criteria set out in the non-price focused tender from the Dutch government. This includes the creation of a bird corridor within the wind farm layout, increasing the hub height to create more vertical space for birds as well as integrating bird and bat detection and deterrence systems into the turbine design.

The project has a grid connection capacity of 760 MW and an excess capacity of 20 MW to use the connection capacity as efficiently as possible, even when production is lower. The wind farm will be constructed about 53 kilometres off the Dutch coast, near IJmuiden.

Turbine installation at sea is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2026. The plan is to commission the wind farm by the end of 2026. With its renewable electricity output of 760 MW, Ecowende can make about 3 percent of the current Dutch electricity demand greener.
