Seit seiner Gründung vor über einem Jahrhundert war NKT an verschiedenen Standorten tätig, die die kontinuierliche Entwicklung des Unternehmens widerspiegeln.

(WK-intern) – Der Umzug des NKT-Hauptsitzes nach Nordhavn in Kopenhagen markiert einen weiteren Schritt zur Unterstützung der kontinuierlichen Entwicklung des Unternehmens.

Die erste Adresse von NKT war 1891 die St. Kannikestræde 14 im Herzen Kopenhagens.

Nur drei Jahre später zog das Unternehmen in größere Räumlichkeiten in der Ryesgade um. Dies markierte nicht nur den Beginn seines rasanten Wachstums, sondern auch den Beginn einer Ära, in der die Elektrifizierung die moderne Gesellschaft grundlegend veränderte.

Seitdem ist das Unternehmen mehrmals umgezogen und hat neue Standorte eröffnet. Es hat sich zu einem globalen Unternehmen mit über 6.000 Mitarbeitern sowie Niederlassungen und Produktionsstätten in über 16 Ländern entwickelt.

Seit 1944 ist Priorparken im dänischen Brøndby ein wichtiger Standort für NKT. Der Industriepark ist nach dem Gründer Hans Peter Prior benannt, und in der Umgebung befindet sich seit vielen Jahren der NKT-Hauptsitz. Nun kehrt NKT an einen zentraleren Standort in Kopenhagen zurück. Ab dem 5. Januar 2026 lautet die neue Adresse des NKT-Hauptsitzes: Amerika Plads 29, 2100 København Ø.

„Unser Unternehmen wächst, und wir prüfen seit einiger Zeit Optionen für einen neuen Hauptsitz. Wir möchten ein vielseitiges und erfolgreiches Arbeitsumfeld für alle schaffen. Angesichts der Fortschritte der letzten Jahre wurde deutlich, dass wir zusätzlichen Platz und verbesserte Arbeitsmöglichkeiten für unsere Kollegen am Hauptsitz und diejenigen von anderen Standorten benötigen. Ein weiteres wichtiges Ziel war die Sicherung eines Standorts mit besserer Anbindung an den öffentlichen Nahverkehr und Erreichbarkeit, um sowohl Mitarbeitern als auch Besuchern einen besseren Service zu bieten. Ich freue mich, dass wir diesen Anforderungen mit unserem neuen Hauptsitz nun gerecht werden können“, sagt Claes Westerlind, CEO von NKT.

Der neue Hauptsitz von NKT befindet sich im ersten und zweiten Stock eines modernen Bürogebäudes am Amerika Plads. Das von PLH Arkitekter entworfene Gebäude zeichnet sich durch ein raffiniertes architektonisches Profil mit einer sanft geschwungenen Ecke zur Kalkbrænderihavnsgade aus. Ein zentrales, offenes Atrium erstreckt sich über die gesamte Höhe des Gebäudes und bildet einen einladenden Mittelpunkt. Das 2017 fertiggestellte Gebäude verfügt über eine Energiezertifizierung der Klasse A. Rund 140 Mitarbeiter sind am NKT-Hauptsitz beschäftigt.

NKT verlässt Brøndby nicht vollständig, da der dänische Teil des Service- und Installationsgeschäfts im Priorparken verbleibt.

NKT moves to new headquarters in Copenhagen

​​​​​​Since its founding over a century ago, NKT has operated from a range of locations, each reflecting the company’s ongoing evolution. The relocation of NKT’s headquarters to Nordhavn in Copenhagen marks another step forward in supporting the company’s ongoing development.

NKT’s first address in 1891 was St. Kannikestræde 14, in the heart of Copenhagen. Just three years later, the company moved to a larger facility on Ryesgade, marking not only the start of its rapid growth, but also the dawn of an era in which electrification began to reshape modern society.

Since then, the company has relocated and opened new facilities several times and has developed into a global business with more than 6,000 employees and offices and production sites in over 16 countries.

Since 1944, Priorparken in Brøndby, Denmark, has been an important location for NKT. The industrial park is named after the founder, Hans Peter Prior, and the surrounding area has hosted the NKT headquarters for many years. Now, NKT is returning to a more central location in Copenhagen. From 5 January 2026, the new NKT headquarters address will be Amerika Plads 29, 2100 København Ø.

– Our company is growing and for some time, we have been exploring options for a new headquarters. We want to promote a versatile and thriving work environment for all and given the progress we have achieved in recent years, it became evident that we required additional space and enhanced working facilities for our colleagues based at the headquarters and those visiting from other sites. A key priority has also been to secure a location with improved public transport connections and accessibility, making it more convenient for both employees and visitors. I am pleased that we are now able to meet these needs with our new headquarters, says Claes Westerlind, CEO of NKT.

NKT’s new headquarters is situated on the first and second floors of a contemporary office building at Amerika Plads. Designed by PLH Arkitekter, the building features a refined architectural profile, with a gently curved corner addressing Kalkbrænderihavnsgade. A central and open internal atrium spans the full height of the structure, constituting an inviting focal point of activity. Completed in 2017, the building holds an A-rated energy certification. Approximately 140 employees are based at the NKT headquarters.

NKT is not leaving Brøndby entirely, as the Danish part of the Service and Installation business line will remain located in Priorparken.
