RWE kommt beim Ausbau seines iberischen Solargeschäfts gut voran.

(WK-intern) – RWE hat jetzt seinen 46-MWac-Freiflächen-Solar-Photovoltaikpark Morgavel in Portugal in Betrieb genommen.

• RWEs erste Solaranlage in Portugal besteht aus 91.000 Solarmodulen
• Ökostrom zur Versorgung von umgerechnet 42.000 portugiesischen Haushalten
• RWE-Solarkapazität auf der Iberischen Halbinsel: 300 MWac im Bau und in Betrieb

Die Farm liegt südlich von Lissabon in Morgavel, Sines, auf einer Fläche von 112 Hektar.

An diesem Standort wurden rund 91.000 bifaziale Solarmodule installiert, die eine Absorption der Sonnenstrahlung sowohl von der Vorder- als auch von der Rückseite des Moduls ermöglichen. Die Bauarbeiten für die Solaranlage wurden von Omexom Portugal durchgeführt. Construção e Manutenção Eletromecânica (CME) war der Auftragnehmer für die Umspannwerks- und Netzanschlussarbeiten.

RWE Renewables Iberia – ein wichtiger Treiber der iberischen Energiewende

Nach der Inbetriebnahme von drei neuen Solarparks mit einer Gesamtkapazität von 98 MWac (Las Vaguadas, Casa Valdes und Puerta del Sol) und dem Baubeginn des 92 MWac Gazules-Projekts in Spanien in den letzten 12 Monaten verfügt RWE über eine Solarkapazität von ca 300 MWac mit sechs großen PV-Projekten in Betrieb und einem im Bau auf der Iberischen Halbinsel. Nach der Inbetriebnahme des innovativen Onshore-Projekts Orkoien hat RWE Renewables Iberia Onshore-Windparks mit einer Gesamtleistung von rund 500 MW in Betrieb.

Die „Sonnenseite“ von RWE

RWE is making good progress in expanding its Iberian solar business. RWE has now commissioned its 46-MWac ground-mounted Morgavel solar photovoltaic farm in Portugal. The farm is located south of Lisbon in Morgavel, Sines, on an area of 112 hectares. Approximately 91,000 bifacial solar modules, which allow solar radiation to be absorbed from the front as well as from the rear side of the module, were installed at this site. The construction works for the solar plant were carried out by Omexom Portugal. Construção e Manutenção Eletromecânica (CME) was the contractor for the substation and grid connection works.

RWE Renewables Iberia – a key driver of the Iberian energy transition

Following the commissioning of three new solar farms with a total capacity of 98 MWac (Las Vaguadas, Casa Valdes and Puerta del Sol) and starting construction of the 92 MWac Gazules project during the past 12 months in Spain, RWE has a solar capacity of approximately 300 MWac with six large-scale PV-projects in operation and one under construction on the Iberian Peninsula. After the commissioning of the innovative Orkoien onshore project, RWE Renewables Iberia has onshore wind farms with a total capacity of around 500 MW in operation.

The ‘sunny side’ of RWE

As one of the leading renewable energy companies globally, RWE operates photovoltaic plants worldwide – including Limondale, which is one of the largest solar farms in Australia with a capacity of 249 MWac. Further solar projects are in development or already under construction with a strong focus on implementing innovative solutions. A first floating photovoltaic project on a lake in the Netherlands is part of RWE’s solar portfolio. In Germany the company is operating and constructing solar plants with integrated battery storage systems in opencast mines or is looking into the development of agricultural photovoltaic plants.
