Grupo Daniel Alonso, Eigentümer von 68 % von Windar, und Siemens Gamesa, das die restlichen 32 % besitzt, haben eine Vereinbarung zum Verkauf des Unternehmens an Bridgepoint getroffen.

(WK-intern) – Orlando Alonso bleibt weiterhin Präsident und CEO von Windar und behält eine indirekte Minderheitsbeteiligung am Unternehmen.

Die Übernahme von Windar, einem weltweit führenden Hersteller von Windkrafttürmen und Unterkonstruktionen für die Offshore-Windindustrie, durch Bridgepoint wird das Wachstum des Unternehmens fördern.

„Der Verkauf der Beteiligung von Siemens Gamesa an Windar ist für uns eine natürliche Entscheidung als Teil unserer Strategie, uns auf unser Kerngeschäft zu konzentrieren: Windturbinendesign, Herstellung einschließlich Rotorblätter, Installation und Wartung“, sagte Jochen Eickholt, CEO von Siemens Gamesa.

Der Abschluss der Transaktion wird voraussichtlich noch vor Jahresende erfolgen. Der endgültige Abschluss der Transaktion unterliegt den üblichen behördlichen Genehmigungen.


Siemens Gamesa and Grupo Daniel Alonso agree to sell Windar to Bridgepoint

Grupo Daniel Alonso, owner of 68% of Windar, and Siemens Gamesa, which owns the remaining 32%, have reached an agreement to sell the company to Bridgepoint.

Orlando Alonso will continue as President and CEO of Windar, and will retain an indirect minority stake in the company.

The acquisition of Windar, a leading global manufacturer of wind turbine towers and substructures for the offshore wind industry, by Bridgepoint will foster the growth of the company.

“The sale of Siemens Gamesa’s stake in Windar is a natural decision for us, as part of our strategy to focus on our core business: wind turbine design, manufacturing including blades, installation and maintenance,” said Jochen Eickholt, Siemens Gamesa’s CEO.

The closing of the transaction is expected to take place before year end. Final transaction closing is subject to customary regulatory approvals.
