Oslo – Wind Catching Systems AS (Wind Catching Systems), der Entwickler schwimmender Offshore-Windtechnologie, gibt heute die Vergabe eines Vorprojektzuschusses in Höhe von 9,3 Mio. NOK (0,9 Mio. USD) von ENOVA bekannt.

(WK-intern) – Wind Catching Systems hat einen Zuschuss von 9,3 Mio. NOK zur Unterstützung der ersten Implementierung eines vollständigen Windcatchers erhalten.

Im Rahmen des Vorprojekts wird Wind Catching Systems die Technologie und Kostenschätzungen für einen vollwertigen Windcatcher weiterentwickeln und validieren.

Der Windfänger

Wind Catching Systems entwickelt den Windcatcher, eine schwimmende Windkraftanlage auf Basis einer Mehrturbinenkonstruktion. Durch den Einsatz mehrerer Turbinen auf einer einzigen schwimmenden Plattform maximieren Wind Catching Systems die Energieproduktion pro schwimmender Struktur und ermöglichen gleichzeitig ein eigenständiges Wartungssystem, das den Bedarf an Spezialschiffen zur Unterstützung von Offshore-Wartungsarbeiten überflüssig macht.

Mit dem Windcatcher, einem Windkraftsystem, das speziell für schwimmende Offshore-Windkraftanlagen entwickelt wurde, löst Wind Catching Systems einige der zentralen Herausforderungen schwimmender Windkraftanlagen. drastische Reduzierung der Flächennutzung pro MWh erzeugter Elektrizität bei gleichzeitiger Minimierung der Komplexität und der Betriebs- und Wartungskosten.

Wind Catching Systems awarded NOK 9.3 million grant

Oslo – Wind Catching Systems AS (Wind Catching Systems) the developer of floating offshore wind technology, today announces the award of a pre-project grant of NOK 9.3 million (USD 0.9 Million) from ENOVA.

Wind Catching Systems has been awarded a grant of NOK 9.3 million to support the initial implementation of a full-scale Windcatcher. Through the pre-project, Wind Catching Systems will mature and validate the technology and cost estimates for a full-scale Windcatcher.

“This is the second grant Wind Catching Systems has received from ENOVA. The support from ENOVA is a strong validation of both our technology and our team. We are now fully focused on maturing our technology towards our first offshore installation,” says Ole Heggheim, the CEO of Wind Catching Systems.

The Windcatcher

Wind Catching Systems is developing the Windcatcher, a floating wind power plant based on a multi-turbine design. Through having multiple turbines on a single floating platform, Wind Catching Systems will maximize the energy production per floating structure while enabling a self-contained maintenance system eliminating the need for specialized vessels to support offshore maintenance operations.

With the Windcatcher, a wind power system specifically designed for floating offshore wind, Wind Catching Systems solves some of the central challenges facing floating wind; drastically reducing acreage use per MWh of electricity produced while minimizing complexity and cost of operations and maintenance.
