Nexans hat einen wichtigen Auftrag von ScottishPower Renewables zur Lieferung von Hochspannungs-Untersee-Exportkabeln für den Offshore-Windpark East Anglia TWO in der südlichen Nordsee erhalten.

(WK-intern) – Das Projekt wird bis zu 960 MW erneuerbare Energie erzeugen – genug, um fast 1 Million britische Haushalte mit Strom zu versorgen.

Die voraussichtliche Fertigstellung des Projekts ist für Ende 2028 geplant und unterstützt die britischen Ziele für erneuerbare Energien.

Nexans, ein führendes Unternehmen in der Entwicklung und Herstellung von Kabelsystemen und -diensten, hat von ScottishPower Renewables (Teil der Iberdrola-Gruppe) einen wichtigen Auftrag für das Offshore-Windparkprojekt East Anglia TWO erhalten. Dieses Projekt stellt einen entscheidenden Meilenstein in Nexans‘ Engagement für die Elektrifizierung der Zukunft und die Unterstützung der europäischen Energiewende dar.

Der Offshore-Windpark East Anglia TWO, der etwa 33 Kilometer vor der Küste Suffolks in der südlichen Nordsee liegt, wird eine installierte Leistung von bis zu 960 MW haben und damit einen wichtigen Beitrag zur britischen Landschaft für erneuerbare Energien leisten. Der Windpark wird eine bedeutende Rolle in der britischen Landschaft für erneuerbare Energien spielen und genug Strom erzeugen, um fast eine Million Haushalte zu versorgen.

Im Rahmen dieses Vertrags wird Nexans etwa 100 Kilometer 275-kV-Hochspannungs-Untersee-Exportkabel und 55 Kilometer Landkabel liefern und installieren, die den Windpark an das britische Stromnetz anschließen. Diese Kabel werden in den hochmodernen Produktionsanlagen von Nexans in Halden, Norwegen, und Charleroi, Belgien, hergestellt, um höchste Qualität und Zuverlässigkeit für diese wichtige Infrastruktur für erneuerbare Energien zu gewährleisten.

Die Kabelinstallation soll in den Jahren 2027 und 2028 erfolgen, das Projekt soll bis Ende 2028 abgeschlossen sein. Nexans secures important contract for offshore wind project in the southern North Sea

Nexans has been awarded an important contract with ScottishPower Renewables to deliver high-voltage subsea export cables for the East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm in the southern North Sea.

The project will generate up to 960MW of renewable energy – enough to power the equivalent of almost 1 million UK homes.

The expected completion of the project is by the end of 2028, supporting the UK’s renewable energy goals.

Paris, December 4, 2024 – Nexans, a leader in the design and manufacturing of cable systems and services, has been awarded an important contract by ScottishPower Renewables (part of the Iberdrola Group) for the East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm project. This project represents a critical milestone in Nexans‘ commitment to electrifying the future and supporting the European energy transition.

The East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm, located approximately 33 kilometers from the Suffolk coast in the southern North Sea, will have an installed capacity of up to 960MW, making it an important contributor to the UK’s renewable energy landscape. The wind farm will play a significant role in the UK’s renewable energy landscape, generating enough electricity to power the equivalent of almost one million homes.

Under this contract, Nexans will supply and install approximately 100 kilometers of 275kV high voltage subsea export cables and 55 kilometers of onshore cables, connecting the wind farm to the UK electricity grid. These cables will be manufactured at Nexans‘ advanced production facilities in Halden, Norway, and Charleroi, Belgium, ensuring the highest quality and reliability for this crucial renewable energy infrastructure.
