Eksfin stellt Iberdrola eine Garantiefinanzierung in Höhe von 450 Mio. EUR zur Verfügung und erreicht einen neuen Meilenstein von 20 Mrd. NOK (1,8 Mrd. EUR) an Darlehen und Garantien für Offshore-Windprojekte weltweit

(WK-intern) – Oslo, Norwegen: Die staatlich unterstützte Exportkreditagentur Export Finance Norway (Eksfin) verstärkt ihr Engagement auf dem internationalen Offshore-Windmarkt durch die Bereitstellung einer Kreditgarantiefinanzierung für das spanische Energieunternehmen Iberdrola.

Die Transaktion unterstützt die Beteiligung norwegischer Exporteure am Windparkprojekt East Anglia Three im Vereinigten Königreich.

Iberdrola ist einer der weltweit führenden Akteure auf dem Offshore-Windmarkt und hat sich kürzlich ein grünes Darlehen in Höhe von 500 Millionen Euro gesichert, um den Bau und die Entwicklung von East Anglia Three zu finanzieren. Eksfin garantiert 90 % des Kreditbetrags, wobei Citi als Garantienehmer fungiert.

Durch diese Transaktion hat Eksfin zum ersten Mal einem spanischen Energieunternehmen eine Garantiefinanzierung bereitgestellt und der norwegischen Zulieferindustrie im Einklang mit seinem Auftrag bedeutende Exportmöglichkeiten ermöglicht. Insgesamt unterstützt die Kreditfinanzierung Exportverträge im Wert von über 6 Milliarden NOK / 590 Millionen Euro.

Förderung norwegischer Exporte

Der Deal markiert auch einen neuen Meilenstein für Eksfin, das seit 2019 mehr als 20 Milliarden NOK / 1,8 Milliarden Euro an Finanzierungen für ausländische Käufer norwegischer Technologie und Dienstleistungen im Bereich Offshore-Wind bereitgestellt hat.

Iberdrola treibt sein Engagement für Nachhaltigkeit weiter voran, das auf der Elektrifizierung der Wirtschaft durch saubere Energie basiert und auf die Bekämpfung des Klimawandels sowie die Schaffung von Wohlstand und Beschäftigung in den Gemeinden, in denen das Unternehmen tätig ist, abzielt. Offshore-Windkraft ist derzeit der wichtigste Treiber für das starke Wachstum der norwegischen Zulieferindustrie im Bereich der erneuerbaren Energien.

Für den Bau von East Anglia Three, dessen 1.400 MW-Kapazität den Bedarf von 1,3 Millionen Haushalten mit sauberer Energie decken wird, wird Iberdrola eine Transformatorplattform von Aker Solutions und Installationsdienstleistungen von Seaway 7 erwerben. Große norwegische Unternehmen sind Unterlieferanten dieser größeren Exporteure.

Eksfin provides EUR 450 million in guarantee financing to Iberdrola and reaches a new milestone of NOK 20 billion (EUR 1.8 billion) in loans and guarantees to offshore wind projects worldwide

Oslo, Norway: State-backed export credit agency Export Finance Norway (Eksfin) deepens its commitment to the international offshore wind market by providing loan guarantee financing to Spanish energy company Iberdrola. The transaction supports Norwegian exporters’ participation in the East Anglia Three wind park project in the UK.

Iberdrola is one of the world’s leading players in the offshore wind market and recently secured a EUR 500 million green loan to finance the construction and development of East Anglia Three. Eksfin is guaranteeing 90% of the loan amount with Citi acting as the guarantee holder.

Through this transaction Eksfin has provided guarantee financing for the first time to a Spanish energy company and facilitated significant export opportunities for the Norwegian supplier industry, in accordance with its mandate. Altogether the loan financing supports export contracts valued at over NOK 6 billion / EUR 590 million.

The deal also marks a new milestone for Eksfin, which since 2019 has provided more than NOK 20 billion / EUR 1.8 billion in financing to foreign purchasers of Norwegian technology and services within offshore wind.

Iberdrola continues to advance its commitment to sustainability, based on the electrification of the economy through clean energy, and aimed at combating climate change and creating wealth and employment in the communities where it operates. This operation strengthens Iberdrola’s relationship with its Norwegian partners.

Offshore wind is currently the most important driver of the Norwegian supplier industry’s strong growth in the renewables sector.

For the construction of East Anglia Three, whose 1,400MW capacity will provide clean energy equivalent to the needs of 1.3 million homes, Iberdrola will purchase a transformer platform from Aker Solutions and installations services from Seaway 7. A whole string of other small and medium-sized Norwegian companies are sub-suppliers to these larger exporters.
