Nacka, Schweden: Die Atlas Copco Group hat mit dem Bau einer neuen Produktionsanlage in Talegaon, Pune, Indien, begonnen.

(WK-intern) – Das neue Werk von Atlas Copco in Talegaon wird Luft- und Gaskompressorsysteme für den lokalen Markt und für den Export herstellen.

Es umfasst eine Produktionsanlage und ein Bürogebäude mit einer Fläche von ca. 25.000 m2. Atlas Copco investiert rund 1400 MINR (ca. 180 MSEK).

Die Fertigstellung der neuen Anlage ist für das zweite Quartal 2024 geplant. Sie wird zusätzliche Arbeitsplätze für über 200 Mitarbeiter schaffen und die Produktionskapazität erhöhen.

„Wir investieren weiter in Kapazitäten in Indien, um der wachsenden Nachfrage des indischen Marktes und der Exportmärkte gerecht zu werden“, sagte Vagner Rego, Geschäftsbereichsleiter von Compressor Technique. „Dieses Expansionsprojekt ist Teil unserer Strategie, für unsere Kunden First-in-mind, First-in-Choice zu bleiben. Dadurch können wir neue Kunden und Märkte erreichen und die Lieferzeiten verbessern.“

In der Talegaon-Anlage werden rund 80 % der Energie aus Sonnenkollektoren stammen und 75 % des verbrauchten Wassers aus der Regenwassernutzung stammen. Der Bau erfolgt im Einklang mit dem LEED-Konzept (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).

Atlas Copco to expand manufacturing in India with new factory in Pune

Nacka, Sweden: Atlas Copco Group has begun construction of a new manufacturing facility in Talegaon, Pune, India.

Atlas Copco’s new factory in Talegaon will manufacture air and gas compressor systems for the local market, and for export. It encompasses a manufacturing plant and office building of approximately 25,000 m2. Atlas Copco is investing around MINR 1400 (approximately 180 MSEK).

The new facility is planned to be completed by Q2, 2024. It will generate additional employment for over 200 people and add production capacity.

“We invest further in capacity in India to cater to the growing demand of the Indian and export markets,” said Vagner Rego, Business Area President, Compressor Technique. “This expansion project is part of our strategy to remain first in mind, first in choice for our customers. It will enable us to reach new customers and markets and improve lead times.”

At the Talegaon facility, around 80% of the energy will come from solar panels and 75% of the water consumed will be derived from rainwater harvesting. The construction will be in line with the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) concept.
