Windar renovables festigt seine Führungsposition in der Offshore-Windindustrie mit seiner neuen Investition in Polen.

(WK-intern) – Das spanische Unternehmen Windar renovables, führend in der Herstellung von Türmen für Windkraftanlagen (onshore und offshore), hat seine Investitionsentscheidung zum Bau einer neuen Offshore-Turmfabrik in Polen bestätigt.

Windar Renovables wird mit dem Bau dieser Fabrik im Jahr 2022 beginnen.

Diese neue Anlage wird etwa 120.000 m2 groß sein und überdachte Bereiche für Schweißarbeiten, Oberflächenbehandlung und Montagearbeiten sowie einen offenen Bereich für die Lagerung fertiger Komponenten umfassen. Die Gesamtinvestition beläuft sich auf 80 Millionen Euro und wird 450 direkte Arbeitsplätze schaffen, sobald die Fabrik vollständig in Betrieb ist.

Das Werk, das über eine Kapazität von 100 Türmen pro Jahr verfügen wird, wurde speziell für die Fertigung der neuen Generation von Offshore-Windkraftanlagen (14-16 MW) konzipiert und ermöglicht die Serienproduktion von Sektionen von bis zu 450 Tonnen, 10 Meter Durchmesser und 50 Meter Länge.

Windar renovables consolidates its leadership in the offshore wind industry with its new investment in Poland.

Spanish company Windar renovables, leader in the manufacture of wind turbine towers (onshore and offshore), has confirmed its investment decision to build a new offshore tower factory in Poland.

Windar renovables will begin construction of this factory in 2022. This new facility will be approximately 120,000 m2 and will include covered areas for welding, surface treatment and assembly Works, as well as an open area for the storage of finished components. Total investment is worth 80 million euros and will create 450 direct jobs once the factory is fully operational.

The plant, which will have the capacity to manufacture 100 towers annually, it has been designed specifically to accommodate the manufacturing of the new generation of offshore wind turbines (14-16 MW), and will enable serial production of sections of up to 450 tonnes, 10 metres in diameter and 50 metres in length.

Production is expected to start in early 2024 and the target market will be mainly Poland, as well as other countries in the Baltic and North Sea, where the demand will increase in the coming years. Poland is an emerging market for offshore wind energy and the first 5.9 GW have recently been auctioned, with some of the largest developers in the wind sector being the successful bidders. The first wind farms are expected to start generating clean energy by 2025. Auctions for the second phase of projects, which is estimated at about 5GW, are planned to take place between 2025 and 2027.

This investment reinforces Windar renovables position as a world leader in clean and sustainable energy through the manufacture of towers and substructures for the offshore wind industry. This new international factory, will enable Windar to increase its global footprint and capacity, after Windar´s successful development of previous investments for other tower facilities abroad such as India (2011), Brazil (2013), Mexico (2016), Russia (2018), besides the remaining 6 factories that the Spanish company manages in Spain since it was founded in 2007.

Windar renovables, along with its strategic partner Navantia, is also actively involved in the fabrication of offshore wind substructures (Jackets, Monopiles and floating). Both companies have jointly developed up to 7 projects during the last 7 years and are also currently participating on several tenders for projects to be executed up to 2025.
