Mammoet feiert Doppelsieg bei den ESTA Awards of Excellence 2023

(WK-intern) – Mammoet hat bei der diesjährigen Veranstaltung zwei renommierte ESTA Awards of Excellence gewonnen.

Bei der Preisverleihung, die als „Oscar-Verleihung“ der Schwergut- und Transportbranche gilt, wurde Mammoet in zwei Kategorien ausgezeichnet – SPMT und Gittermastkrane.

Der Preis für die außergewöhnliche Leistung von Mammoet in der Kategorie SPMT wurde für sein bahnbrechendes Projekt in Norwegen verliehen, das die Stilllegung und das Recycling des 20.300 Tonnen schweren FPSO-Schiffes Curlew umfasst. Mammoet brach mehrere Weltrekorde, indem es 748 SPMT-Achslinien und 30 Powerpacks verwendete, um das Schiff in eine Stilllegungs- und Recyclinganlage zu bringen. Trotz mehrerer technischer Herausforderungen, wie z. B. der Art der Struktur, die sich beim Verschieben verformte, hat Mammoet die Aufgabe erfolgreich abgeschlossen, indem es detaillierte Planungs-, Test- und Sicherheitsmaßnahmen einsetzte und einen neuen Standard in der Branche setzte.

Die Auszeichnung für herausragende Arbeit von Mammoet in der Kategorie Gittermastkrane wurde für die erfolgreiche Installation eines 430-Tonnen-Filters auf engstem Raum in einer Stahlproduktionsanlage von ARCELORMITTAL in Dünkirchen, Frankreich, verliehen. Mammoet nutzte seine 3D-Präzisionsplanungssoftware Move3D und seinen PTC35-DS-Kran, um Sicherheit, Kosteneffizienz und Effizienz zu gewährleisten. Die Software ermöglichte es dem Team, den Hebevorgang sehr detailliert zu planen und zu visualisieren, während der Kran aufgrund seiner Fähigkeit ausgewählt wurde, auf engstem Raum eingesetzt zu werden, wodurch der Filter in einem Stück gehoben und installiert werden konnte, wodurch die Kosten und der Zeitaufwand für den Bau reduziert wurden und Schweißen mehrerer Teile.

Die Veranstaltung verzeichnete die Teilnahme von mehr als 500 Teilnehmern aus der Branche und erhielt Beiträge von zahlreichen Unternehmen, die ihre herausforderndsten und innovativsten Projekte und Entwicklungen präsentierten. Der doppelte Erfolg von Mammoet bei den Awards unterstreicht seine Position als führendes Unternehmen in der Schwerlast- und Transportbranche.

Mammoet Celebrates Double Victory at the ESTA Awards of Excellence 2023

Mammoet has won two prestigious ESTA Awards of Excellence at this year’s event. The awards ceremony, considered the „Oscars ceremony“ of the heavy lift and transport industry, saw Mammoet awarded in two categories – SPMT and Lattice Boom Cranes.

The award for Mammoet’s exceptional achievement in the category of SPMT was presented for its groundbreaking project in Norway involving the decommissioning and recycling of the 20,300-tonne FPSO vessel, Curlew. Mammoet broke several world records by using 748 axle lines of SPMT and 30 power packs to move the vessel into a decommissioning and recycling facility. Despite facing several technical challenges, such as the nature of the structure which deflected when moved around, Mammoet successfully completed the task by employing detailed planning, testing, and safety measures, setting a new standard in the industry.

The award for Mammoet’s outstanding work in the Lattice Boom Cranes category was given for the successful installation of a 430-tonne filter in a confined space at a steel production plant owned by ARCELORMITTAL in Dunkirk, France. Mammoet utilized its 3D precision planning software, Move3D, and its PTC35-DS crane to ensure safety, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency. The software enabled the team to plan and visualize the lifting operation in great detail, while the crane was selected for its ability to operate in small spaces, allowing for the filter to be lifted and installed in one piece, reducing the cost and time of building and welding multiple pieces.
