Ente Vasco de la Energía (EVE) als Platin-Sponsor für ICOE-OEE 2022 bestätigt

(WK-intern) – ICOE-OEE 2022, die weltweit führende Veranstaltung zum Thema Meeresenergie, gab heute bekannt, dass die baskische Energieagentur Ente Vasco de la Energía (EVE) als Platin-Sponsor teilnimmt.

In den letzten Jahren hat sich EVE fest für erneuerbare Meeresenergie engagiert, und die Veranstaltung wird es ihr ermöglichen, das stolze industrielle Erbe des Baskenlandes und sein Potenzial in der Meeresenergie zu präsentieren.

Die baskische Küste ist ein idealer Standort für die Entwicklung und Erprobung von Wellenenergiegeräten, und die Region verfügt über das technologische und industrielle Know-how, das erforderlich ist, um sich als globale Referenz auf diesem Gebiet zu positionieren. EVE fördert zwei führende Projekte im Bereich Meeresenergie: Die Biscay Marine Energy Platform (BiMEP) und das Mutriku-Wellenkraftwerk. Delegierte von ICOE-OEE 2022 können beide Einrichtungen im Rahmen einer technischen Tour während der Veranstaltung besichtigen.

BiMEP ist ein einzigartiges, netzgekoppeltes Testgebiet auf offener See vor der Küste von Armintza, das Wellenenergiekonverter und schwimmende Windkraftplattformen demonstriert und validiert. Das Kraftwerk Mutriku nutzt die Technologie der oszillierenden Wassersäule (OWC) zur Energieerzeugung und hat mit der Erzeugung von 2,4 GWh Strom seit 2011 Rekorde bei der Erzeugung von Wellenenergie gebrochen.

Die Anlage, die weltweit am längsten betriebene kommerzielle Anlage ihrer Art, ist mit 16 Turbinen und einer installierten Gesamtleistung von 296 kW ausgestattet und bietet eine einzigartige Gelegenheit, neue Luftturbinendesigns, Steuerstrategien und Zusatzausrüstung zu testen.

Ente Vasco de la Energía (EVE) confirmed as platinum sponsor for ICOE-OEE 2022

ICOE-OEE 2022, the global leading event on ocean energy, announced today that the Basque Energy Agency, Ente Vasco de la Energía (EVE), is participating as platinum sponsor. In recent years, EVE has made a firm commitment to marine renewable energy, and the event will enable it to showcase the Basque Country’s proud industrial heritage and its potential in ocean energy.

The Basque coast is an ideal site for the development and testing of wave energy devices and the region has the technological and industrial expertise needed to position itself as a global reference in this field. EVE is promoting two leading projects in ocean energy: The Biscay Marine Energy Platform (BiMEP) and Mutriku wave power plant. Delegates of ICOE-OEE 2022 will be able to visit both facilities as part of a technical tour during the event.

BiMEP is a unique, grid-connected open-sea test area off the coast of Armintza, which demonstrates and validates wave energy converters and floating wind power platforms. The Mutriku plant uses oscillating water column (OWC) technology to generate energy, and has broken wave power production records, generating 2.4 GWh of electricity since 2011.

The plant, which is the longest-operating commercial plant of its kind in the world, is equipped with 16 turbines and a total installed capacity of 296 kW, and it provides a unique opportunity for testing new air turbine designs, control strategies and ancillary equipment.
Iñigo Ansola, the General Director of the Basque Energy Agency commented: “The Basque Country has the most advanced technology testing infrastructures and a high-capacity industrial base, enabling it to make a decisive contribution to the take-off of this sector. This year, the Basque Energy Cluster and Ocean Energy Europe, together with the International Energy Agency’s Ocean Energy Systems (IEA-OES), are teaming up to deliver a joint event on ocean energy, taking place on 18-20 October 2022. The event will combine the International Conference on Ocean Energy (ICOE) and Ocean Energy Europe’s (OEE) annual event.
The unique event, ICOE-OEE 2022, will gather ocean energy professionals and decision-makers from all corners of the globe in Donostia / San Sebastián, in the Basque Country, Spain.
