Taiwan Offshore Wind Market – IOVTEC teams up with VOMS, reflagged new DP vessel into Taiwan

International Ocean Vessel Technical Consultant (IOVTEC) announced today the signature of MOU with Valour Offshore Marine Services (VOMS) bringing the new DP vessel, Avatar Courage, into Taiwan to support this new market.

IOVTEC and VOMS formed a strategic alliance to provide integrated services to Taiwanese offshore wind projects. Utilising the recently re-flagged Avatar Courage, they provide geotechnical survey, bubble certain solutions, heavy spare part transportation and crew accommodation. Aside from survey purposes that a normal DP vessel focuses on, Avatar Courage has additional capability and flexibility to deliver various construction support.

Avatar Courage, a multi-purpose DP1 Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessel (AHTS) owned by VOMS, a Singaporean OSV supplier. She becomes the 4th Taiwanese vessel equipped with a DP system. Leveraging on IOVTEC’s survey capability and Valour‘s vast experience in Oil and Gas market, Avatar Courage just marked a successful milestone for her first project at Taiwan’s pilot offshore wind farm and has proved her capability to serve the growing Taiwanese market.

Being one of the local pioneers in Taiwanese offshore wind industry, IOVTEC has developed its track record since 2015, making it the first Taiwanese supplier to support Formosa 1 crew transfer. Avatar Courage is the 8th addition to the IOVTEC fleet, among 3 survey boats and 4 CTVs strategically deployed in Taiwan.
