The order covers the two wind parks Boa Esperança I and Pedra do Reino IV, comprising 22 MW and 31 MW respectively. The projects are located in the region of Sobradinho in Bahía and consist of a total of 24 units of locally manufactured V110-2.0 MW wind turbine delivered in 2.2 MW Power Optimised Mode. Rogerio S. Zampronha, Vestas‘ Managing Director for Brazil and Southern LATAM, says: „These two contracts show our strengths within customised solutions for auction bids and highlight our ability to win new projects in an otherwise quiet Brazilian wind market. The two wind parks are the first time we partner with Echoenergia and we are convinced our solutions‘ strong performance will be the foundation of a long-lasting collaboration“. Both contracts include the supply and installation of the wind turbines well as a 10-year Active Output Management (AOM 5000) service contract. The commissioning of the wind turbines is planned for 2018. Vestas has been active in the country since 2000 and has more than 1.5 GW of wind capacity either installed or under construction in Brazil. Together with a strong localisation plan, Vestas has positioned itself among the leading companies in the Brazilian renewable energy market.
