(WK-intern) – Das Schiff kann auf eine Vielzahl von Projekten eingesetzt werden. Order placed for world’s largest cutter dredge and launching of multipurpose vessel Isaac Newton Over the past seven years Jan De Nul Group has considerably expanded its fleet and as a result the group now owns the most state-of-the-art dredging fleet in the world. Nowadays Jan De Nul Group is adjusting its investment strategy and is now more than ever focusing on niche markets. MULTIPURPOSE VESSEL ISAAC NEWTON LAUNCHED Today the multipurpose vessel Isaac Newton was launched at the Croatian shipyard Uljanik Brodogradiliste. The ship can be deployed on a variety of projects: installing subsea cables, trench dredging and subsea rock installation, which definitely makes it unique. The construction of multipurpose vessels allows Jan De Nul to better meet the clients’ requests to have a project executed by one contractor or one vessel and to reduce the mobilization costs for its clients. In cable-installation mode the vessel will be capable of transporting and laying cable in a single length with a total weight of approximately 10,000 tonnes, which is more than any other vessel currently available. ORDER PLACED FOR THE MOST POWERFUL CUTTER SUCTION DREDGER IN THE WORLD Jan De Nul Group has placed an order for a large self-propelled cutter suction dredger JDN8069 with the same shipyard. The vessel was designed by Jan De Nul’s in-house design department. With seven large self-propelled cutter suction dredgers, Jan De Nul Group can boast much experience in rock dredging and dredging at high sea. This experience provided the basis for new cutter suction dredger concept. The total installed diesel power will be over 40.000 kW, which is approximately 50% more powerful than our J.F.J. De Nul, currently the largest cutter suction dredger in the world. The cutter power amounts to 8,500 kW and the cutter ladder weighs around 2,000 tonnes. These figures are unrivalled and make the vessel the ultimate tool for dredging hard rock. WE ARE LOOKING FOR NEW COLLEAGUES Jan De Nul Group is continuously growing and therefore constantly looking for additional employees, people who are able to pragmatically support our services and who feel strongly about team spirit. Looking for additional staff: civil and industrial engineers, technicians, architects, electromechanical engineers, but also supporting staff and technical crew, is a constant process. Should the above have awakened your interest, come and have a look at jobs.jandenul.com.
