März 2013 (WK-intern) – CISWIND-2013: International Conference & Exhibition „Wind power in the CIS and Eastern Europe“ Congress Complex “Olimpiyskiy”, Kyiv, Ukraine – 28-29 March 2013 Under the auspices of WWEA, the wind energy conference and exhibition for the CIS and East European countries will take place in Kyiv Kyiv/Bonn – CISWIND-2013, an International Conference & Exhibition „Wind power in the CIS* and Eastern Europe“ will take place on March 28-29, 2013 in Congress Complex “Olimpiyskiy”, Kyiv, under support of the World Wind Energy Association. CISWIND is a key event for the wind energy industries of the CIS and East European countries. The organizers of CISWIND-2013 are IBCentre and Ukrainian Wind Energy Association. Industry partner is the Association of Alternative Fuel and Energy Market Participants of Ukraine (APEU). The event is supported by the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine and by a number of specialized and public organizations. Being the largest international wind industry event in the CIS and Eastern Europe, CISWIND-2013 will bring together the market leaders, heads of the industry agencies, developers and equipment manufacturers, financiers and investors, top international wind experts and professional associations. CISWIND-2013 will give renewed impetus to the development of wind power on the whole territory of the former Soviet Union. The key topics of CISWIND-2013 includes analysis of the global and European markets’ experiences, the policies and legal frameworks for the further wind development, investment attractiveness and peculiarities of financing WPP in the CIS and Eastern Europe, technical aspects of grid connection, “green” tariff regulations and state support in view of recent legislative changes as well as the risk management in the wind energy projects. A trade show exhibition will provide participants with an opportunity to showcase their products and services, new technologies in the field of wind energy in the CIS and Eastern Europe. Interviewed experts estimated CIS market as a huge, potentially attractive for investments niche: “CISWIND comes exactly at the right time and WWEA is pleased to be a partner of this important event: Many of the CIS countries are still in an early stage, but they are now seriously interested in wind power utilization, as we have been able to find out in our CIS Report. We expect dynamic new wind markets in the future. Ukraine, as the by far largest wind power market amongst the CIS countries, is without doubt the ideal location for this event. CISWIND will create an additional momentum for wind power in the CIS region, by becoming the leading meeting point for decision makers from industry and government“, – commented Stefan Gsaenger, Secretary General of WWEA. Executive director of IBCentre, Juliya Berezovski says: “Every year the situation for the players of the dynamic global market of wind energy is getting more and more complicated – the developed markets of the EU reduce the support of the industry and the markets are getting saturated. What should the solution providers, investors and developers do today? That’s right, go to the East! A huge “undeveloped” territory of the former Soviet Union, where the “grain” of renewable energy industry are just beginning to sprout, can become even more stable market than saturated EU members”. “Electricity generated from renewable energy resources is a requirement of modern life. Energy production by burning fossil fuels causes irreparable harm to the environment. Being the main source of greenhouse gas emissions combustion of fossil fuels leads to the climate change. “Green” energy provides a wide range of socio-economic benefits, it brings investments into the local economy through utilization of cheap local energy resources and creates new jobs. In this respect Ukraine is a good example for CIS countries, remaining the absolute leader among them in wind power sector development. Nowadays, Ukraine is the only country amongst the CIS community with an established wind industry and functioning system of “green” tariffs – summarizes Andriy Konechenkov, Chairman of Ukrainian Wind Energy Association. This year the leading experts and officials from Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Lithuania and Poland will provide participants of the Conference with the latest news and initiatives in the sphere of development renewable energy. Among participants there are leading companies of the industry: 3TIER, Vestas, GeoNet, Mecal, ATS, Siemens, Deutsche WindGuard, Commerzbank, Fuhrländer, BEITEN BURKHARDT, Bl International Enterprises, Meteodyn, Blue Planet Wind, EGERES, ENERPARK, AWS TRUEPOWER, LM Wind Power, Wind Parks of Ukraine ant others. Wind Power in the CIS: CIS is the Commonwealth of Independent States (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan). You can find detailed information about the Wind Power Status in the CIS Countries. IBCentre (Innovative Business Centre) – a fast growing research and consulting organization, focused on the theme of project development for business innovation based on clean technologies in the field of “green” business, renewable energy and energy efficiency, projects in the field of “green” marketing and sustainable business development in Eastern Europe and the CIS. Also IBCentre (Innovative Business Centre) is the organizer highly specialized events in the sphere of new „green“ markets, trends and innovation in the CIS and Eastern. The Ukrainian Wind Energy Association (UWEA) is an All-Ukrainian, non-governmental, non-profit organisation whose purpose is to promote wind energy technologies and insure wind energy interests on the national and international levels. Ever since its foundation in spring 2008, the association has been committed to wide-scale developing wind energy in Ukraine, involving small and medium size businesses into the process. UWEA popularizes wind energy as environmentally sound, CO2 neutral source of electricity for Ukrainian consumers. APEU (Association of Alternative Fuels and Energy Market Participants in Ukraine) is the heart of renewable energy in Ukraine. Gathering more than 60 companies and organizations that play an important role in different sectors of alternative fuels and energy and operate more than 70% existing projects on the national market, the Association is the voice of the renewable energy industry in Ukraine.
