OMV Petrom unterzeichnet die größte Akquisition grüner Projekte in Rumänien

• OMV Petrom erwirbt 50 % des größten Windkraftprojektportfolios in Rumänien
• OMV Petrom übernimmt vollständig ein E-Mobilitätsgeschäft und wird zum größten Player in Rumänien

(WK-intern) – OMV Petrom, das größte integrierte Energieunternehmen in Südosteuropa, wird von RNV Infrastructure einen 50-prozentigen Anteil an Electrocentrale Borzesti erwerben, das über eine Kapazität von etwa 1 GW an erneuerbaren Projekten verfügt, davon 950 MW Windkraft und 50 MW Photovoltaik.

Die Projekte werden in Zusammenarbeit mit RNV Infrastructure weiterentwickelt, gebaut und betrieben.

Darüber hinaus wird OMV Petrom Renovatio Asset Management, den Eigentümer von Rumäniens führendem Elektrofahrzeug-Ladenetzwerk mit mehr als 400 Elektrofahrzeug-Ladepunkten in Rumänien, vollständig übernehmen und plant, die Zahl bis 2026 auf etwa 650 zu erhöhen.

Durch diese neu gegründete Partnerschaft plant OMV Petrom zusammen mit Renovatio, bis 2027 rund 1,3 Mrd. EUR, einschließlich Projektfinanzierung, in erneuerbare Energien in Rumänien zu investieren. Der Beitrag der OMV Petrom zum Erwerb und Bau dieser Projekte wird auf bis zu 350 Mio. EUR geschätzt.

Der Abschluss der Transaktionen soll nach Erfüllung bestimmter Bedingungen im ersten Halbjahr 2024 erfolgen.

Durch den Erwerb von 50 % des größten Windkraftportfolios in Rumänien wird OMV Petrom die vier Windparks und den Photovoltaikpark im Nordosten Rumäniens errichten. Nach aktuellen Schätzungen soll der Park ab 2024 Strom in das nationale Energiesystem einspeisen, während die Windparks schrittweise zwischen 2025 und 2027 mit der Produktion beginnen sollen. Den Projekten wurde bereits Zugang zum Stromnetz gewährt.

Mit der Übernahme von 100 % der Anteile an Renovatio Asset Management wird OMV Petrom zum größten Player im Bereich E-Mobilität in Rumänien und erweitert das bestehende Netzwerk um mehr als 400 Ladepunkte. Ende 2023 verfügte das regionale Netzwerk der OMV Petrom über rund 270 installierte Ladepunkte, auch durch Partnerschaften. Die Entwicklung des E-Mobilitätsnetzwerks ergänzt die Bemühungen des Unternehmens, zur Dekarbonisierung des Verkehrs in Rumänien und in der Region beizutragen.

OMV Petrom signs the largest acquisition of green projects in Romania

• OMV Petrom to acquire 50% of the largest wind power portfolio of projects in Romania
• OMV Petrom to fully acquire an e-mobility business and become the largest player in Romania

OMV Petrom, the largest integrated energy company in Southeast Europe, will acquire from RNV Infrastructure a 50% stake in Electrocentrale Borzesti, which holds approximately 1 GW capacity of renewable projects, out of which 950 MW wind and 50 MW photovoltaic. The projects will be further developed, built and operated in partnership with RNV Infrastructure.

Furthermore, OMV Petrom will fully acquire Renovatio Asset Management, the owner of Romania’s leading EV charging network, with more than 400 EV charging points in Romania and plans to increase to approximately 650 by 2026.

Through this newly formed partnership, OMV Petrom together with Renovatio plan to invest by 2027 approximately EUR 1.3 bn, including project financing, in renewables in Romania. OMV Petrom’s contribution for the acquisition and construction of these projects is estimated to be up to EUR 350 mn.

The closing of the transactions is expected to take place in the first half of 2024, after fulfilment of certain conditions.

By acquiring 50% of the largest portfolio of wind power in Romania, OMV Petrom The four wind parks and the photovoltaic park will be built in the Northeastern part of Romania. According to current estimates, the park is expected to supply electricity to the national energy system starting 2024, while the wind parks are expected to gradually start production, between 2025 – 2027. The projects have already been granted access to the electricity network.

With the acquisition of 100% shares in Renovatio Asset Management, OMV Petrom will become the largest player in e-mobility in Romania, adding more than 400 charging points to the existing network. As of the end of 2023, OMV Petrom regional network had approximately 270 charging points installed, including through partnerships. The development of the e-mobility network adds to the company’s efforts to contribute to the decarbonization of transport in Romania and in the region.
