Monopiles für wpd´s 640 MW Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm in Taiwan

(WK-intern) – Steelwind Nordenham hat in der vergangenen Woche den Auftrag für die Lieferung von Monopiles für das Offshore Wind Kraftwerk Yunlin in Taiwan erhalten.

Monopiles for wpd´s 640 MW Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm in Taiwan
Steelwind Nordenham has received an order from YunNeng/wpd for their Yunlin Wind Farm in Taiwan. The order includes:

• the supply of 40 Monopiles from Nordenham
• the supply of 120 Segments for Formosa Heavy Industries (FHI) Corporation, Mailiao (R.O.C). FHI will fabricate from segments another 40 monopiles.

Following its selection as prefered supplier im December 2018 Steelwind Nordenham has received the firm order by YunNeng/wpd-Taiwan end of May 2019.
„We are extremly satisfied that we have got this order. It is very encouraging that we are now able to supply monopiles „beyond XXL“ with diameter up to 10 m and unit weight up to nearly 2.000 t“ said Dr.Ralf Hubo, Managing Director of Steelwind.
Fabrication of this first big export order starts in July 2019 and will continue until June 2020.
The project will feature local monopile fabrication by Formosa Heavy Industries Corporation, Mailiao, Taiwan. Localization requirements in Taiwan will be satisfied by this.

Offshore Wind Farm Yunlin (R.O.C.)
Yunlin is an Offshore Wind Farm 8 km in front of western Taiwanese Coastline, with 80 Siemens Gamesa Renewables 8 MW Turbines (from Cuxhaven).
The water depth reaches from 8,5 up to 38 m.
Several monopiles „beyond XXL“ have at the lower end not only the biggest diameter of the world (10 m), but also show another record due to their weight: due to the soil conditions the monopiles have to be very long (60 up to 98 m) and will be very heavy – with maximum single unit weight of close to 2.000 t – they are actually the most heavy monopiles of the world.
