Mammoet implementiert ein innovatives 360-Grad-Sicherheitssystem

(WK-intern) – Mammoet arbeitet mit Rietveld, einem Spezialisten für Flottenmanagement sowie Fahrzeug- und Maschinensicherheitssysteme, an einem gemeinsamen Projekt zum Schutz von Fahrern und Verkehrsteilnehmern beim Bewegen und Manövrieren von Mobilkranen.

Das Projekt kombiniert drei verschiedene Sicherheitstechnologien und wurde von Mammoet in Auftrag gegeben, um seine Kunden bei der Einhaltung strengerer Sicherheitsvorschriften zu unterstützen.

Derzeit laufen Tests an einem seiner neuen Liebherr-Mobilkrane LTM 1070-4.2 70t.

Das dreistufige System umfasst das OmniVue 360°-Kamerasystem von Rietveld. Mithilfe einer Kombination von Kameras, die am Chassis des Krans installiert sind, werden Echtzeitbilder des Fahrzeugs aus der ersten und dritten Person erstellt. Dadurch erhält der Fahrer eine vollständige 360-Grad-Rundumsicht sowohl innerhalb als auch außerhalb des Fahrerhauses und kann so sehen, was Fußgänger und andere Verkehrsteilnehmer sehen.

Die zweite Stufe fügt eine Reihe von Sensoren hinzu, die Personen und Hindernisse innerhalb eines einstellbaren Sicherheitsradius um den Kran herum erkennen. Erkennen die Sensoren eine mögliche Gefahr, warnt ein akustisches Signal den Fahrer. Eine LED-Warntafel zeigt außerdem den Abschnitt des Krans an, in dem die Bewegung erkannt wurde.

Die letzte Ebene, der „Halo“, zeichnet eine helle Grenze auf dem Boden um den Kran herum und gibt den Personen in der Nähe einen klaren visuellen Hinweis auf die sichere Zone um ihn herum. Dies ist besonders wichtig an Standorten, an denen Gehörschutz erforderlich ist. Die Begrenzung kann manuell ein- und ausgeschaltet werden und ist so eingestellt, dass sie sich bei Erreichen einer bestimmten Geschwindigkeit automatisch ausschaltet.

Wir betrachten dies als ein umfassendes System, das nicht nur die Kransicherheit, sondern auch die Schulung der Bediener in Zukunft verbessern wird. Die ersten Tests sind vielversprechend und ich bin sehr stolz auf die Ergebnisse.“

Mobile crane camera setup alerts drivers to site hazards

Mammoet is working with Rietveld, a specialist in fleet management and vehicle and machine safety systems, on a joint project to protect drivers and road users when mobile cranes are moving and maneuvering.

The project combines three different safety technologies and was commissioned by Mammoet to support its customers to meet stricter safety regulations. Testing is currently being carried out on one of its new Liebherr LTM 1070-4.2 70t mobile cranes.

The three-tier system includes Rietveld’s OmniVue 360° camera system. Using a combination of cameras installed on the crane’s chassis, it generates real-time first and third-person images of the vehicle. This gives the driver a full 360-view from both inside and outside the cab, enabling them to see what pedestrians and other road users are seeing.

The second tier adds a series of sensors that detect people and obstacles within an adjustable safety radius around the crane. When the sensors detect a potential hazard, an acoustic signal alerts the driver. An LED warning panel also displays the section of the crane where the motion was detected.

The final tier, the ‘Halo’, draws a light boundary on the floor around the crane, giving those nearby a clear visual indication of the safe zone around it. This is especially important at sites where hearing protection is required. The boundary can be switched on and off manually and is set to automatically turn off when a certain speed is reached.
