Ørsted erklärt sich bereit, den Onshore-Windpark Ford County Wind in Illinois zu erwerben

(WK-intern) – Nach Abschluss der Übernahme wird Ørsted sein Portfolio auf dem US-amerikanischen MISO-Markt, der 15 Bundesstaaten im Mittleren Westen und Süden umfasst, um 121 MW Windenergie erweitern.

Ford County Wind wird über Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) mit Mars, Incorporated, Silgan Containers und BHJ USA beauftragt. Das Projekt ging im März in den kommerziellen Betrieb.

Heute gab Ørsted bekannt, dass es sich bereit erklärt hat, Ford County Wind, einen 121-MW-Onshore-Windpark in Ford County, Illinois, aus Fonds zu erwerben, die von der Infrastructure Opportunities-Strategie („Ares“) der Ares Management Corporation verwaltet werden. Der Windpark befindet sich im Gebiet des Midwest Independent System Operator (MISO), was die Präsenz von Ørsted in der Region weiter stärkt. Ørsted erwarb letztes Jahr von Ares die 302-MW-Lincoln Land Wind-Anlage, die sich ebenfalls auf dem Gebiet von MISO befindet.

Die Übernahme soll noch in diesem Jahr nach Erhalt der üblichen behördlichen Genehmigungen abgeschlossen werden. Ford County Wind erhöht die US-Kapazität von Ørsted Onshore in Betrieb und im Bau auf etwa 4,4 GW.

Ørsted agrees to acquire onshore wind farm Ford County Wind in Illinois

Upon the closing of the acquisition, Ørsted will add 121 MW operational wind to its portfolio in the US MISO market, which covers 15 states in the Midwest and the South. Ford County Wind is contracted via power purchase agreements (PPA’s) with Mars, Incorporated, Silgan Containers, and BHJ USA. The project reached commercial operation in March.

Today, Ørsted announced that it has agreed to acquire Ford County Wind, a 121 MW onshore wind farm in Ford County, Illinois, from funds managed by Ares Management Corporation’s Infrastructure Opportunities strategy (‘Ares’). The wind farm is located in Midwest Independent System Operator’s (MISO) territory, further strengthening Ørsted’s presence in the region. Ørsted acquired the 302 MW Lincoln Land Wind facility, also in MISO’s territory, from Ares last year.

The acquisition is expected to be finalised later this year upon receipt of customary regulatory approvals. Ford County Wind brings Ørsted Onshore’s US capacity in operation and under construction to approximately 4.4 GW.
