Sweco als Partner für die Rail Baltica-Projektallianz in Estland ausgewählt

(WK-intern) – Sweco wurde als Mitglied einer Projektallianz ausgewählt, die für die Planung und den Bau des ersten Abschnitts des estnischen Abschnitts von Rail Baltica verantwortlich ist.

Rail Baltica ist ein EU-finanziertes Projekt zur Errichtung einer neuen Hochgeschwindigkeitsstrecke, die die baltischen Staaten mit dem Rest Europas verbindet.

Die Projektlaufzeit beträgt bis 2030. Nach Abschluss des Vergabeverfahrens und der Stillhaltefrist wird der Vertrag unterzeichnet und die Details finalisiert. Die geschätzten Gesamtkosten für Abschnitt 1 (Tallinn Ülemiste nach Pärnu) von Rail Baltica belaufen sich auf rund 394 Millionen Euro. Der Auftragswert für Sweco steht noch nicht fest.

Rail Baltica ist ein gemeinsames Verkehrsprojekt der baltischen Länder mit dem Ziel, eine neue Eisenbahnverbindung von Tallinn durch die baltischen Staaten nach Polen zu errichten. In Estland umfasst das Projekt den Bau von insgesamt 213 Kilometern komplett neuer Eisenbahnstrecken mit europäischer Spurweite (1.435 mm). Die Fertigstellung ist für 2030 geplant.

Das Projekt Rail Baltica wird durch eine Kombination aus Mitteln der Europäischen Union, nationalen Beiträgen der baltischen Staaten und privaten Investitionen finanziert. Die EU spielt dabei eine wichtige Rolle und stellt einen erheblichen Teil der Finanzierung über ihre Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) und andere regionale Entwicklungsprogramme bereit.

Sweco selected as a partner for the Rail Baltica Project Alliance in Estonia

Sweco has been selected as a member of a project alliance responsible for designing and constructing section 1 of the Estonian section of Rail Baltica, an EU-funded project to build a new high-speed rail link connecting the Baltic States with the rest of Europe. The project is scheduled to run until 2030. The contract will be signed and details finalised upon completion of the procurement process and standstill period. The estimated total cost of Section 1 (Tallinn Ülemiste to Pärnu) of Rail Baltica is approximately EUR 394 million, and the order value for Sweco is yet to be defined.

Rail Baltica is a joint transportation project involving the Baltic countries, aimed at establishing a new greenfield railway connection from Tallinn through the Baltic states to Poland. In Estonia the project will involve the construction of a total of 213 kilometres of entirely new European gauge (1,435mm) railway track, with completion expected by 2030.

The Rail Baltica project is financed through a combination of European Union funds, national contributions from the Baltic States, and private investments. The EU plays a significant role, providing a substantial portion of the funding, through its Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) and other regional development programmes.
