Aker Solutions (ASA) hat in einem Konsortium mit Siemens Energy einen wichtigen Meilenstein erreicht, indem es von RWE die vollständige Baugenehmigung für die Offshore-Windparks Norfolk Vanguard West und East erhalten hat.

(WK-intern) – Norfolk Vanguard West und East stellen die erste Phase der Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone von RWE dar, zu der auch die Norfolk Boreas-Entwicklungen gehören.

Nach der Fertigstellung wird die Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone genug erneuerbaren Strom produzieren, um mehr als vier Millionen Haushalte zu versorgen.

Aker Solutions hat im Rahmen einer im November 2023 angekündigten begrenzten Baugenehmigung Arbeiten für die Projekte ausgeführt. Die vollständige Baugenehmigung stellt einen bedeutenden Meilenstein dar und unterstreicht den Anspruch von Aker Solutions, zur globalen Energiewende beizutragen.

Das Projekt wird von einem Konsortium aus Aker Solutions und Siemens Energy durchgeführt. Der Aufgabenbereich von Aker Solutions umfasst die Planung, Beschaffung, den Bau und die Installation (EPCI) der Offshore-Plattform für Hochspannungsgleichstrom (HGÜ), während Siemens Energy für die Station an Land sowie die Hochspannungsausrüstung in den Offshore-Umspannwerken verantwortlich ist. Das Joint Venture zwischen Aker Solutions und Drydocks World wird die beiden HGÜ-Plattformen liefern. Die Herstellung der Plattformoberseiten wird von Drydocks World in Dubai, VAE, durchgeführt, während die Herstellung der Unterkonstruktion von der Werft von Aker Solutions in Verdal, Norwegen, durchgeführt wird.

Die Projektausführung hat begonnen, wobei die Planungs- und Beschaffungsaktivitäten sowohl für die Plattformoberseiten als auch für die Unterkonstruktionen im Gange sind. Die Fertigung der Norfolk Vanguard West-Plattform begann im April dieses Jahres bei Drydocks World, während die Fertigung der Norfolk Vanguard East-Plattform im zweiten Quartal 2025 beginnen soll.

Die Plattformen werden 2027 und 2028 geliefert und installiert. Vor der Offshore-Installation werden sie zur letzten Vorbereitung, einschließlich der Umladung vom Transportschiff auf ein Schwerlastschiff, zur Stord-Werft von Aker Solutions geschleppt.

Der Vertrag weist ein ausgewogenes Risiko-Ertrags-Profil auf, das auf Grundsätzen für eine langfristige Zusammenarbeit mit abgestimmten Anreizen für eine effiziente und sichere Lieferung basiert.

Aker Solutions wird den Auftrag zu diesem Zeitpunkt als großen¹ Auftragseingang im ersten Quartal 2025 im Segment Erneuerbare Energien und Feldentwicklung verbuchen, was den verbleibenden Auftragswert für die beiden Projekte darstellt.

Aker Solutions ASA: Aker Solutions and Siemens Energy awarded full notice to proceed on Norfolk Vanguard West and East

Aker Solutions, in a consortium with Siemens Energy, has reached an important milestone by receiving the full notice to proceed from RWE for the Norfolk Vanguard West and East offshore wind farms.

The Norfolk Vanguard West and East represent the first phase of RWE’s Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone, which also includes the Norfolk Boreas developments. Once complete, the Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone will produce enough renewable electricity to power more than four million homes.

Aker Solutions has provided work for the projects under a limited notice to proceed announced in November 2023. The full notice to proceed represents a significant milestone, and underscores Aker Solutions’ ambition to contribute to the global energy transition.

The project is being executed through a consortium consisting of Aker Solutions and Siemens Energy. Aker Solutions’ scope includes engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of the high voltage direct current (HVDC) offshore platform, while Siemens Energy is responsible for the onshore station as well as the high voltage equipment in the offshore substations. The joint venture between Aker Solutions and Drydocks World will deliver the two HVDC platforms. Fabrication of the platform topsides will be executed by Drydocks World in Dubai, UAE, while the fabrication of the substructure will be executed by Aker Solutions’ yard in Verdal, Norway.

Project execution has started, with engineering and procurement activities ongoing for both platform topsides and substructures. Fabrication of the Norfolk Vanguard West platform started at Drydocks World in April of this year, while fabrication of the Norfolk Vanguard East platform is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2025.

The platforms will be delivered and installed in 2027 and 2028. Before offshore installation, they will be towed to Aker Solutions’ Stord yard for final preparations, including transfer from transportation vessel to heavy lift vessel.

The contract has a balanced risk-reward profile based on principles for long-term collaboration with aligned incentives for efficient and safe delivery.

Aker Solutions will at this stage book the award as a major¹ order intake in the first quarter of 2025, in the Renewables and Field Development segment, representing the remaining contract value for the two projects.
