ScottishPower Renewables, Iberdrolas Tochtergesellschaft für erneuerbare Energien in Großbritannien, hat HSM Offshore Energy mit der Planung, Beschaffung, dem Bau, der Installation und Inbetriebnahme des Offshore-Umspannwerks für seinen Offshore-Windpark East Anglia Two in der Nordsee sowie des Jacket-Fundaments beauftragt.

(WK-intern) – Das Hochspannungs-Offshore-Umspannwerk wird rund 5.100 Tonnen wiegen, das Jacket-Fundament weitere 3.700 Tonnen.

Seine Aufgabe ist es, den von den Windturbinen erzeugten Strom zu sammeln, die Spannung umzuwandeln und ihn über Seekabel in das landseitige Übertragungsnetz zu leiten.

Der Baubeginn ist für das vierte Quartal 2025 geplant. Das Jacket-Fundament soll im dritten Quartal 2027 installiert werden, die Spitze des Umspannwerks soll Ende 2027 fertiggestellt sein.

Der 960-MW-Offshore-Windpark East Anglia Two entsteht in der südlichen Nordsee, etwa 33 km vor der Küste Suffolks, am nächsten zu Southwold, und 37 km von Lowestoft entfernt, wo ScottishPower seinen Offshore-Windpark-Betriebs- und Wartungsstandort hat. Nach Inbetriebnahme wird er ausreichend saubere Energie produzieren, um fast eine Million Haushalte mit Strom zu versorgen.

HSM Offshore Energy liefert das 5.100 mt schwere Offshore-Hochspannungsumspannwerk und das 3.700 mt schwere Jacket-Fundament für den 960-MW-Windpark vor der Küste Suffolks. Dieser wird ausreichend saubere, grüne Energie produzieren, um fast eine Million Haushalte mit Strom zu versorgen.

Die ersten Planungsarbeiten für das Ökostromprojekt begannen im Sommer 2024 im Rahmen einer Vorvertragsvereinbarung. Der Baubeginn ist für das vierte Quartal 2025 geplant. Das Jacket soll im dritten Quartal 2027 und das Topside Ende 2027 installiert werden.

ScottishPower awards HSM Offshore Energy the construction of the substation for its East Anglia Two offshore wind farm

ScottishPower Renewables, Iberdrola’s renewable subsidiary in the UK, has awarded HSM Offshore Energy a contract for the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of the offshore substation for its East Anglia Two wind farm in North Sea waters and the jacket foundation on which it will be placed.

The high-voltage offshore substation will weigh around 5,100 tonnes and its jacket foundation will weigh another 3,700 tonnes. Its job will be to collect the electricity generated by the wind turbines, transform the voltage and carry it on submarine cables to the onshore transmission grid.

Construction is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2025, with the jacket foundation ready for installation in the third quarter of 2027 and the top of the substation by the end of 2027.

The 960 MW East Anglia Two offshore wind farm will be located in the southern North Sea, approximately 33 km off the Suffolk coast at its closest point to Southwold and 37 km from Lowestoft, where ScottishPower has its offshore wind operations and maintenance base. When operational, it will produce enough clean energy to power the equivalent of almost one million homes.

HSM Offshore Energy will deliver the 5,100mt offshore high-voltage substation and its 3,700mt jacket foundation for the 960MW windfarm off the coast of Suffolk, which will produce enough clean, green energy to power the equivalent of almost one million homes.

Initial engineering works for the green energy project got underway in summer 2024 under an early work agreement. Construction is expected to start in Q4 2025, with the jacket ready for installation in Q3 2027 and the topside in late 2027.

The East Anglia TWO offshore windfarm will be located in the southern North Sea approximately 33km from the Suffolk coast at its nearest point off Southwold and 37km to Lowestoft. The project is anticipated to have an operational capacity of up to 960MW, which is enough to power the equivalent of around 950,000 homes.
