Ørsted beginnt jetzt mit dem Offshore-Bau der Offshore-Windparks Greater Changhua 2b und 4 in Taiwan.

(WK-intern) – Das wegweisende Projekt wird 920 MW saubere Energie liefern, was erheblich zum Energiewendeziel Taiwans beiträgt.

Ørsted erhielt im Juni 2018 den Zuschlag für die 920 MW Offshore-Windparks Greater Changhua 2b und 4. Im Juli 2020 unterzeichnete Ørsted einen 20-jährigen Festpreis-Stromabnahmevertrag (CPPA) für einen Unternehmenskunden, der die gesamte Produktion der Windparks abnimmt.

Per Mejnert Kristensen, Präsident der Region APAC bei Ørsted, sagt:

Seit seiner endgültigen Investitionsentscheidung im März 2023 hat Ørsted mit der Herstellung der Schlüsselkomponenten begonnen, die Bauarbeiten des Umspannwerks an Land abgeschlossen und mit der Mobilisierung von Schiffen zur Vorbereitung des Offshore-Baus begonnen.

Die Offshore-Windparks Greater Changhua 2b und 4 sollen bis Ende 2025 ihre Offshore-Installation abschließen und 2026 vollständig an das Netz angeschlossen sein. Nach der Fertigstellung wird Ørsted in Taiwan eine kombinierte operative Offshore-Windkapazität von fast 2 GW erreichen und genug saubere Energie produzieren, um zwei Millionen taiwanesische Haushalte mit Strom zu versorgen.

Ørsted hat derzeit 9,9 GW operative Offshore-Windkapazität auf drei Kontinenten installiert, weitere 8,4 GW Offshore-Wind sind im Bau.

Ørsted starts offshore construction of 920 MW offshore wind farms in Taiwan

Ørsted now commences the offshore construction for the Greater Changhua 2b and 4 offshore wind farms in Taiwan. The landmark project will deliver 920 MW of clean energy, which significantly contribute to Taiwan’s energy transition goal.

Ørsted was awarded the 920 MW Greater Changhua 2b and 4 offshore wind farms in June 2018. In July 2020, Ørsted signed a 20-year fixed-price corporate power purchase agreement (CPPA) for a corporate customer to offtake the full production of the wind farms.

Per Mejnert Kristensen, President of Region APAC at Ørsted, says:

Since its final investment decision in March 2023, Ørsted has begun the manufacturing of the key components, completed civil work of the onshore substation, and started mobilising vessels to prepare the offshore construction.

The Greater Changhua 2b and 4 offshore wind farms are expected to complete offshore installation by the end of 2025 and be fully connected to the grid in 2026. Once completed, Ørsted will reach a combined operational offshore wind capacity in Taiwan of nearly 2 GW, producing clean energy enough to power two million Taiwanese households.
