Downing Renewable Developments erhält zwei Baugenehmigungen

(WK-intern) – Downing Renewable Developments (DRD) hat innerhalb einer Woche zwei Baugenehmigungen erhalten und setzt damit seine erfolgreiche Entwicklung im Bereich der erneuerbaren Energien fort.

Das Unternehmen erhielt die Genehmigung für ein 40-MW-Batteriespeichersystem (BESS)-Projekt in Heanor, Derbyshire, in den East Midlands, sowie für ein weiteres 100-MW-BESS-Projekt in der Nähe von Rowley Regis in den West Midlands. Nach ihrer Fertigstellung werden diese Projekte die von Downing verwalteten Fonds erheblich stärken.

Beide Projekte wurden ohne Einwände der Öffentlichkeit genehmigt. Dies unterstreicht DRDs Engagement für die Zusammenarbeit mit der lokalen Bevölkerung und seinen Fokus auf die Maximierung der Chancen für die Region durch Arbeitsplätze und gemeinnützige Leistungen.
Die Tochtergesellschaft des Investmentmanagers Downing erhielt im vergangenen Jahr die erste Baugenehmigung für einen 49,9-MW-Solarpark in Norfolk, der Teil ihrer 6-GW-Pipeline an Entwicklungsprojekten in ganz Großbritannien ist.

Das Projekt Rowley Regis – bekannt als Edwin Richards Energy Storage Park – wird genug Energie speichern, um bis zu 300.000 Haushalte zwei Stunden lang mit Strom zu versorgen, während der Heanor Energy Park genug erneuerbare Energie speichern wird, um bis zu 120.000 Haushalte zwei Stunden lang mit Strom zu versorgen.

Downing Renewable Developments secures two planning consents

Downing Renewable Developments (DRD) has secured two planning consents in a week, as it continues to successfully develop its pipeline of renewable energy developments.
It was granted approval for a 40MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Heanor, Derbyshire, in the East Midlands, and then for a further 100MW BESS project near Rowley Regis in the West Midlands. When constructed, the projects will add significant assets to Downing-managed funds.
Both projects were approved without any objections from members of the public, reflecting DRD’s commitment to engaging with local communities and its focus on maximising opportunities for the local area through jobs and community benefit payments.
The subsidiary of investment manager Downing was granted its first planning consent last year for a 49.9 MW solar farm in Norfolk, part of its 6GW pipeline of development projects across the UK.

The Rowley Regis project – known as the Edwin Richards Energy Storage Park – will store enough energy to power up to 300,000 homes for a two-hour period while the Heanor Energy Park will store enough renewable energy to power up to 120,000 homes for a two-hour period.
