(WK-intern) – CAMBRIDGE – Mit dem Schwerpunkt auf dem Aufbau der Arbeitskräfte, die für die Zukunft der Energie erforderlich sind, kündigte die GE Vernova Foundation heute eine bahnbrechende Investition von 500.000 Dollar in Stipendien für die berufliche und technische Ausbildung in fünf Städten in den Vereinigten Staaten für Personen aller Hintergründe an, die Karrieren im Bereich der elektrischen Energie anstreben.

Die heutige Nachricht kommt eine Woche nach der Ankündigung von GE Vernova, in den nächsten zwei Jahren fast 600 Millionen US-Dollar in seine US-Fabriken und -Anlagen zu investieren. Damit sollen etwa 1.500 neue Arbeitsplätze in den USA geschaffen werden, um den steigenden Strombedarf weltweit zu decken.

In Zusammenarbeit mit der in Atlanta ansässigen SkillPointe Foundation möchte die GE Vernova Foundation die Personalentwicklung im Energiesektor nachhaltig beeinflussen und die Zukunft der Energie mitgestalten. Der neue „Future of Energy“-Stipendienfonds, der in Charleroi (PA), Greenville (SC), Houston (TX), Schenectady (NY) und Pensacola (FL) – allesamt Standorte von GE Vernova – ins Leben gerufen wird, konzentriert sich auf Studierende, die derzeit einen handwerklichen Beruf oder eine technische Laufbahn anstreben, sowie auf die Umschulung von Erwachsenen, die einen Berufswechsel anstreben. Diese Zusage in Höhe von 500.000 US-Dollar wird technische und berufliche Ausbildung finanzieren, um aktuelle und zukünftige Arbeitnehmer mit den Fähigkeiten auszustatten, die für Arbeitsplätze in der Netzmodernisierung, der Stromerzeugung und verwandten Bereichen erforderlich sind. Die zweijährige Investition wird 100 Stipendien im Wert von 5.000 USD bereitstellen, was einer Gesamtinvestition von 100.000 USD an jedem der fünf Standorte entspricht.

CAMBRIDGE – With a focus on building the workforce needed to drive the future of energy, today the GE Vernova Foundation announced a landmark investment of $500,000 in scholarships for vocational and technical training in five cities across the United States for individuals of all backgrounds pursuing careers related to electric power. Today’s news comes the week after GE Vernova’s announcement of nearly $600 million in planned investments in its U.S. factories and facilities over the next two years, expected to create approximately 1,500 new U.S. jobs, to help meet the surging electricity demands around the world.

In collaboration with the Atlanta-based SkillPointe Foundation, the GE Vernova Foundation aims to create a lasting impact on workforce development in the energy sector and help enable the future of energy. Launching in Charleroi, PA; Greenville, SC; Houston, TX; Schenectady, NY; Pensacola, FL – all home to GE Vernova facilities – the new “Future of Energy” Scholarship Fund will focus on students currently pursuing skilled trades or a technical career as well as the reskilling of adults looking to re-career. This $500,000 commitment will fund technical and vocational training to equip current and future workers with skills required for jobs in grid modernization, power generation and related fields. The two-year investment will provide 100 $5,000 scholarships, for a total of a $100,000 investment in each of the 5 locations.
