Odfjell Oceanwind (OOW) hat den Erwerb von Ørsteds 80-prozentigem Anteil am Offshore-Windpark Salamander abgeschlossen.

(WK-intern) – OOW wird gemeinsam mit den verbleibenden Anteilseignern des Offshore-Windparks Salamander, bestehend aus der Simply Blue Group und Subsea7, die Entwicklung des Projekts zu einem Demonstrationsprojekt für kommerzielle schwimmende Offshore-Windkraftanlagen vorantreiben.

Das neue Konsortium wurde von Crown Estate Scotland begrüßt.

Salamander ist ein innovatives schwimmendes Offshore-Windprojekt mit 100 MW Leistung in Schottland, 35 Kilometer vor Peterhead. Das Projekt erhielt im Rahmen der INTOG-Leasingrunde von Crown Estate Scotland einen Exklusivvertrag für eine Meeresbodenpacht und erhielt kürzlich die Genehmigung gemäß Abschnitt 36 der schottischen Regierung.

Salamander hat für das Projekt das halbtauchfähige Stahlfundament Deepsea Star™ von Odfjell Oceanwind eingesetzt.

Herr Lund fügte hinzu: „Der Erwerb von Anteilen am Salamander-Projekt ist ein wichtiger Teil unseres Ziels, schwimmende Windkraftanlagen durch die schrittweise Ausweitung der Projekt- und Windturbinengröße relevant und kommerziell zu machen, bevor wir den Versorgungsmaßstab erreichen. Dies ist ein logischer Schritt nach unserer kürzlichen Ankündigung des ScaleWind-Projekts, bei dem wir uns einen Platz mit einem 24-MW-Netzanschluss im Marine Energy Test Centre in Norwegen gesichert haben, mit dem Ziel, 2028 eine schwimmende Offshore-Windkraftanlage in Originalgröße zu installieren.“

Odfjell Oceanwind acquires Ørsted`s shares in the Salamander Offshore Wind Farm

Odfjell Oceanwind (OOW) has completed the acquisition of Ørsted`s 80% share in the Salamander Offshore Wind Farm.

OOW will work together with the remaining shareholders of the Salamander Offshore Wind Farm consisting of Simply Blue Group and Subsea7 to continue the development of the project into a demonstration project for commercial-scale floating offshore wind. The new consortium has been welcomed by Crown Estate Scotland.

Salamander is an innovative 100 MW floating offshore wind project in Scotland, located 35 kilometres off Peterhead. The project was awarded an Exclusivity Agreement for a seabed lease by Crown Estate Scotland in the INTOG leasing round and recently received section 36 consent from the Scottish Government.

Salamander has adopted Odfjell Oceanwind’s Deepsea Star™ semisubmersible steel foundation for the project.

Mr Lund added: “The Salamander project share acquisition is a key part of our ambition to make floating wind relevant and commercial through the gradual scale-up in project and wind turbine sizes before reaching utility scale. It follows as a natural stepping stone from our recent announcement of the ScaleWind project where we secured a slot with a 24 MW grid connection at the Marine Energy Test Centre, Norway with the ambition of installing one full-scale floating offshore wind turbine in 2028.”

The 100 MW Salamander floating wind project, a joint venture between OOW, Simply Blue Group and Subsea7, will be a major contributor to ensuring the UK government’s target of delivering 5 GW of operational floating offshore wind by 2030 is both achievable and to the maximum benefit of public and private stakeholders.

The 100MW project seeks to be a contributor in the delivery of the Scottish Government’s target 11 GW of offshore wind by 2030 and the UK Government’s target of 5GW of operational floating offshore wind by the same date.
