Framo signs landmark service agreement covering Petrobras FPSO fleet

Bergen, Norway – Four-year agreement covering approximately 30 FPSOs is Framo’s largest service contract of its kind to date and comes as the company’s installed base in Brazil heads towards more than 1,500 pumps by 2028.

Global marine and industrial pump leader Framo has formally signed a four-year service agreement with Petrobras covering Framo pumping systems across the Brazilian energy company’s fleet of approximately 30 FPSOs.

The agreement – which covers inspection, maintenance and training for all Framo pumps installed across the fleet, including seawater lift, firewater, cargo and water injection pumps – was signed during ROG.e 2026 in Rio de Janeiro by Sylvia Anjos, Director of Exploration and Production at Petrobras, and Ruffo Chiconelli, Business Development Director at Framo do Brasil.

The agreement represents Framo’s largest service contract of its kind to date and introduces an expanded service concept built around a structured programme of annual inspections, maintenance and training across the Petrobras fleet.

Morten Sivertsen, Director, Framo Services Offshore, said: “This agreement represents a significant step in how we support Petrobras across the lifecycle of its equipment. Rather than looking at individual service requirements in isolation, we will be working across a large fleet under a structured programme covering inspection, maintenance and training.

“With more FPSOs entering the Brazilian market and the Framo installed base continuing to grow, having the right competence and service capacity locally will become increasingly important.”

Framo has been present in Brazil since 1995 and has built a long-standing relationship with the Brazilian energy major. Service work under the new agreement will be carried out by Framo’s local team in Rio, combining specialist product knowledge with close proximity to Petrobras’ offshore operations.

The agreement comes as Framo’s installed base in Brazil is set to expand significantly. By 2028, more than 1,500 Framo pumps are expected to be operating in the country, driven by new FPSOs entering the Brazilian market.

To support that growth, Framo is also expanding its service capacity in Rio with a new maintenance facility at Galeão. The facility will strengthen the company’s ability to support customers locally throughout the lifecycle of their equipment, including inspection, maintenance and training.
