Harmonisiertes Regula – Schnelles Wachstum in Italien: RWE verdoppelt Wind- und Solarkapazität im Bau auf 235 Megawatt

• Baubeginn für 112 MW Wind- und Agri-PV-Kapazität im Jahr 2025
• Baubeginn für weitere Projekte im Jahr 2026: 66-MW-Windpark Alas auf Sardinien, Solarparks Ponte Valentino 1 & 2 (19 MWac) in Kampanien sowie 38,2 MWac Agri-PV-Kapazität (50.000 Solarmodule) in Sizilien, Kampanien und Kalabrien

(WK-intern) – RWE beschleunigt den Ausbau erneuerbarer Energien in Italien:

Nach dem Baubeginn von 112 Megawatt (MW) Wind- und Solarprojekten im Jahr 2025 hat das Unternehmen nun 123 MW im Jahr 2026 in Angriff genommen – und damit die im Bau befindliche Kapazität auf 235 MW mehr als verdoppelt.

Nach ihrer Fertigstellung werden diese Projekte über 190.000 italienische Haushalte mit Strom versorgen können.

Im vergangenen Jahr begann RWE mit dem Bau seiner ersten kommerziellen Agrar-Photovoltaikanlagen, die sich derzeit in der Inbetriebnahmephase befinden: Morcone (9,8 MWac) und Acquafredda (9,3 MWac) in der Region Kampanien sowie zwei große Onshore-Windparks – Serra Palino (47 MW) in Apulien und Venusia (45 MW) in der Basilikata.

Onshore-Windpark auf Sardinien
2026 begann RWE mit dem Bau des Onshore-Windparks Alas mit zehn 6,6-MW-Turbinen und einer Gesamtkapazität von 66 MW. Die Inbetriebnahme ist für 2027 geplant.

Photovoltaikanlagen in Kampanien
Die Freiflächen-Solarparks Ponte Valentino 1 & 2 (19 MWac) werden in der Gemeinde Benevento errichtet. Insgesamt werden über 32.000 Solarmodule auf einer Fläche von 25 Hektar installiert.

Die Inbetriebnahme ist für 2026 geplant.

Agri-PV-Projekte – insgesamt 38,2 MWac & 50.000 Module

RWE errichtet außerdem vier fortschrittliche Agri-PV-Anlagen:

Acquafredda 2 (11,7 MWac) – Kampanien
Enna (9,5 MWac) – Sizilien
Carcitella (8 MW) – Sizilien
Cava (9 MWac) – Kalabrien

Alle vier Projekte sollen 2026 in Betrieb gehen und nutzen erhöhte oder steil geneigte Montagekonstruktionen, um eine landwirtschaftliche Nutzung zu ermöglichen. Je nach Standort weiden Schafe unter den Solarmodulen oder es werden Nutzpflanzen angebaut. Die erhöhten Module bieten zudem Schutz vor Hagel, Frost, Trockenheit und Starkregen. Um die Agri-PV-Technologie weiterzuentwickeln, wird RWE die Anlagenleistung überwachen und meteorologische sowie landwirtschaftliche Daten erfassen.

Weitere Bauprojekte in Planung

Der Bau des Windparks Serra Giannina, der im vergangenen Jahr bei der FER-X-Auktion erfolgreich war, beginnt in den nächsten Wochen. RWE wird in Potenza in der Region Basilikata sechs Turbinen mit einer Gesamtleistung von 42 MW errichten.

RWE ist ein wichtiger Akteur auf dem italienischen Markt für erneuerbare Energien. RWE is accelerating its renewable expansion in Italy: After starting construction of 112 megawatts (MW) of wind and solar projects in 2025, the company has now kicked off 123 MW in 2026 – more than doubling the capacity under construction to 235 MW. Once completed, these projects will be able to supply over 190,000 Italian households with electricity.

Last year, RWE began building its first commercial-scale Agri-PV plants, which are in commissioning phase now: Morcone (9.8 MWac) and Acquafredda (9.3 MWac) in the Campania region, along with two major onshore wind farms – Serra Palino (47 MW) in Apulia and Venusia (45 MW) in Basilicata.

Onshore wind farm in Sardinia
In 2026, RWE has started construction of the Alas onshore wind farm, featuring ten 6.6 MW turbines and a total capacity of 66 MW. Commissioning is planned for 2027.

PV plants in Campania
The ground-mounted solar parks Ponte Valentino 1 & 2 (19 MWac) are being built in the municipality of Benevento. A total of over 32,000 solar modules will be installed across
25 hectares. Commissioning is planned for 2026.

Agri-PV projects – in total 38.2 MWac & 50,000 modules

RWE is also constructing four advanced Agri-PV plants:

Acquafredda 2 (11.7 MWac) – Campania
Enna (9.5 MWac) – Sicily
Carcitella (8 MW) – Sicily
Cava (9 MWac) – Calabria

All four projects are scheduled for commissioning in 2026 and will use elevated or high-tilt mounting structures to enable agri-pastoral use. Depending on the site, sheep will graze beneath the panels or crops will be cultivated. The elevated panels also offer protection against hail, frost, drought and heavy rainfall. To further advance Agri-PV technology, RWE will monitor plant performance and collect meteorological and agricultural data.

More construction to come

The Serra Giannina wind farm, which was successful in last year’s FER-X auction, is about to start construction within the next weeks. RWE will install six turbines in Potenza in the Basilicata region with a total capacity of 42 MW.
