Amersfoort, Niederlande – Das internationale Ingenieurbüro Haskoning und die lettische Investitions- und Entwicklungsagentur haben am 18. Februar 2026 einen Vertrag unterzeichnet.

(WK-intern) – Haskoning wird die Planungsphase für das Offshore-Windprojekt ELWIND in den kommenden drei Jahren durchführen.

Offshore-Windentwicklung mit integrierter Unterstützung vorantreiben

ELWIND ist ein gemeinsames staatliches Offshore-Windprojekt Estlands und Lettlands, das die regionale Unabhängigkeit durch den Ausbau erneuerbarer Energien stärken soll. Die Experten von Haskoning werden das Gesamtkonzept für die beiden Windparks in der Ostsee erstellen und daraus eine umfassende technische Planung für das ELWIND-Projekt entwickeln.

Die Leistungen von Haskoning umfassen die Optimierung des Anlagenlayouts, Netzstudien sowie die Integration von Standortuntersuchungen und Umweltverträglichkeitsprüfungen. Ein gut geplanter Windpark ist unerlässlich für fundierte Entscheidungen und die Vorbereitung des Projekts auf die nachfolgenden Entwicklungsphasen.

Haskoning wird das Projekt gemeinsam mit dem Subunternehmer Empire Engineering durchführen, der für die Planung der Fundamente der Windkraftanlagen verantwortlich ist.

Die baltischen Staaten setzen auf Offshore-Windenergie für bezahlbare Energie und Unabhängigkeit.

Estland und Lettland wollen ihre eigene Produktion erneuerbarer Energien steigern. Sie streben an, mit Offshore-Windkraft größere Mengen erneuerbarer Energie zu erzeugen.

Haskoning war bereits in früheren Entwicklungsphasen des ELWIND-Projekts durch die Durchführung einer Kabelstudie beteiligt. Dieser neue Auftrag unterstreicht das Vertrauen in Haskonings Expertise in der Offshore-Windentwicklung.

Mit seiner umfassenden Erfahrung im Bereich Offshore-Wind in der Nordsee unterstützt Haskoning die Entwicklung von Offshore-Windparks im Ostseeraum. Haskoning to design offshore wind farms in Estonia and Latvia

Amersfoort, the Netherlands – Haskoning – the international consulting engineering company, and the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia have signed a contract on 18th February 2026. Haskoning will carry out the design phase for the ELWIND offshore wind project, spanning over the next three years.

Advancing offshore wind development with integrated support

ELWIND is the joint Estonian and Latvian state-run offshore wind project aiming to increase the region’s independence by increasing renewable energy production. Haskoning’s experts will prepare the general concept for the two wind farms in the Baltic Sea and develop this into an integral and comprehensive technical design for the ELWIND project.

Haskoning’s work will include layout optimization, transmission grid studies and integration of site investigations and environmental assessment. A well-designed wind farm is essential to inform decision-making and prepare the project for subsequent development phases.

Haskoning will execute the project together with subconsultant partner Empire Engineering, who is responsible for designing the foundations of the wind turbines.

Baltics deploying offshore wind for energy affordability and autonomy

Estonia and Latvia intend to increase their own renewable energy production. These countries aim to generate larger volumes of renewable energy with offshore wind.

Haskoning has been involved in previous development stages of the ELWIND project, by carrying out a cable study. This new assignment reflects the confidence in Haskoning’s expertise in offshore wind development.
