Ørsted und PGE treiben die Offshore-Bauarbeiten für das Projekt Baltica 2 voran.

(WK-intern) – Die ersten Fundamente wurden erfolgreich im polnischen Teil der Ostsee installiert.

Mit diesem Projekt errichten Ørsted und PGE Polens größten Offshore-Windpark mit einer Leistung von 1,5 GW – genug, um 2,5 Millionen polnische Haushalte mit Strom zu versorgen.

Im Rahmen der von Van Oord durchgeführten Installationskampagne werden 111 Monopiles installiert: 107 als Fundamente für Windkraftanlagen und 4 für die Offshore-Umspannwerke. Die Installation wird bis zum vierten Quartal 2026 andauern.

Die Monopiles für Baltica 2 sind rund 100 Meter lang, haben einen Durchmesser von über 10 Metern und wiegen durchschnittlich 1.500 Tonnen. Nach der Installation auf See sind diese Strukturen so ausgelegt, dass sie Windkraftanlagen bis zu 30 Jahre lang unter rauen Meeresbedingungen tragen können. Jeder Monopile besitzt eine einzigartige, standortspezifische Geometrie.

Der Offshore-Windpark Baltica 2 wird in einer 50/50-Partnerschaft zwischen Ørsted und Polens größtem Energiekonzern, PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna, errichtet, betrieben und in deren Besitz sein. Der Windpark, der etwa 40 km vor der polnischen Küste bei Ustka entstehen wird, soll 2027 vollständig in Betrieb gehen.

Für Baltica 2 besteht ein 25-jähriger, inflationsgeschützter Differenzvertrag (CfD) mit dem polnischen Staat. Der Windpark hat alle Genehmigungen erhalten und einen Netzanschlussvertrag mit dem polnischen Übertragungsnetzbetreiber PSE unterzeichnet.

Über Baltica 2

Die vollständige Inbetriebnahme von Baltica 2 wird bis Ende 2027 erwartet. Ørsted und PGE sind für den gesamten Windpark verantwortlich, einschließlich der Offshore-Übertragung und der Umspannwerke.

Baltica 2 wird den Hafen von Danzig für die Lagerung, Vormontage und Offshore-Installation der Windkraftanlagenkomponenten nutzen.

Der Windpark wird aus 107 Siemens Gamesa 14-222 Windkraftanlagen mit je 14 MW Leistung bestehen. Die Installation erfolgt durch Cadele und Fred. Olsen Windcarrier, während Van Oord die Fundamente errichtet.

Der Differenzvertrag (CfD) für Baltica 2 hat eine Laufzeit von 25 Jahren und beginnt nach der Inbetriebnahme des Windparks, die für 2027 geplant ist. Der nominale Anfangspreis pro MWh wird auf Basis des vereinbarten Preises von 71,82 EUR aus dem Jahr 2021 zuzüglich der kumulierten Inflation von 2021 bis zum Beginn des CfD ermittelt. Der Preis pro MWh wird jährlich an die Inflation angepasst. Nach Ablauf des CfD erhält Baltica 2 den Marktpreis für Strom oder schließt neue Stromabnahmeverträge ab.

Ørsted and PGE kick off offshore installation of Baltica 2 project

Ørsted and PGE are moving ahead with full-scale offshore construction activities on the Baltica 2 project. The first foundations have been successfully installed in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea. With this project, Ørsted and PGE are building Poland’s largest offshore wind farm of 1.5 GW – enough to power 2.5 million Polish households.

During the installation campaign, which is being carried out by Van Oord, 111 monopiles will be installed: 107 as foundations for wind turbines and 4 for the offshore substations. The installation process will continue until Q4 2026. 

The monopiles for Baltica 2 are about 100 metres long, with diameters of more than 10 metres, and weigh 1,500 tonnes on average. Once installed offshore, these structures are designed to support wind turbines for up to 30 years in harsh marine conditions. Each monopile has a unique geometry tailored to its specific location.  

The Baltica 2 Offshore Wind Farm will be built, owned, and operated in a 50/50 partnership between Ørsted and Poland’s largest energy company, PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna. The wind farm, which will be located approximately 40 km off the Polish coast near Ustka, is expected to be fully commissioned in 2027.  

Baltica 2 has a 25-year inflation-protected contract for difference (CfD) in place with the Polish state. The wind farm has obtained all permits and has signed a grid connection contract with the Polish transmission system operator, PSE.

About Baltica 2 

Baltica 2 is expected to be fully commissioned by the end of 2027. Ørsted and PGE are responsible for the full scope of the wind farm, including offshore transmission and substations.  

Baltica 2 will use the Port of Gdańsk for the storage, pre-assembly, and offshore installation of wind turbine components.  

The wind farm will comprise 107 Siemens Gamesa 14-222 wind turbines of 14 MW, which will be installed by Cadeler and Fred. Olsen Windcarrier, while Van Oord will be installing foundations.  

The CfD for Baltica 2 runs for 25 years and starts after commissioning of the wind farm, which is expected in 2027. The nominal starting price per MWh will be determined based on the agreed 2021 price of EUR 71.82 plus accumulated inflation from 2021 until the CfD starts. The price per MWh will be annually adjusted to inflation. After the CfD ends, Baltica 2 will receive the market price for electricity or enter into new power purchase agreements.
