Der Hafen von Bilbao beherbergt die Pilotanlage für eine innovative schwimmende Solarlösung.

(WK-intern) – Das Unternehmen Landatu Solar hat im Hafen von Bilbao eine modulare schwimmende Solarenergieanlage für maritime Umgebungen installiert.

Ziel ist es, die Leistungsfähigkeit der Anlage unter realen Bedingungen zu bewerten und in dieser ersten Phase technische Schlussfolgerungen für die Weiterentwicklung des Systems und dessen Potenzial für den Einsatz in Offshore-Gebieten zu ziehen.

Die Initiative liefert wertvolle Erkenntnisse darüber, wie Faktoren wie Wellen, Wind, Korrosion und die Komplexität des Verankerungssystems die strukturelle Leistungsfähigkeit der Technologie beeinflussen. Dies ermöglicht die Planung zukünftiger Ausbaustufen.

Die 12 x 12 Meter große Pilotanlage, die im Hafenbecken von Santurtzi verankert ist, besteht aus einer modularen, gespannten Membran- und Netzstruktur mit einem Außenrahmen. Dieser sorgt für Auftrieb und Stabilität und ermöglicht so eine bessere Anpassung an die dynamischen Belastungen durch die Wellen. Zudem können einfache, transportable Komponenten verwendet werden, was das Potenzial hat, Installationszeiten und logistischen Aufwand zu reduzieren.

Diese Initiative ist Teil des Seamod-Projekts zur Entwicklung einer innovativen, modularen, schwimmenden Lösung für Photovoltaik-Solarenergie im maritimen Umfeld. Die vorgeschlagene Lösung ist als System konzipiert, das skalierbar ist und sich mit anderen erneuerbaren Meeresenergiequellen wie Offshore-Windkraft integrieren lässt. So soll die Energiewende durch die Nutzung des Meerespotenzials beschleunigt und der Druck auf landwirtschaftliche Nutzflächen und bebaubare Flächen verringert werden. Seamod wurde von Landatu Solar mit Unterstützung des baskischen Regierungsprogramms Hazitek 2024 entwickelt und vom baskischen Ministerium für wirtschaftliche Entwicklung, Nachhaltigkeit und Umwelt sowie der Europäischen Union über den Europäischen Fonds für regionale Entwicklung (EFRE) kofinanziert.

The Port of Bilbao hosts the pilot of an innovative floating solar solution

The company Landatu Solar has set up a modular floating solar energy solution for marine environments in the waters of the Port of Bilbao, with a view to assessing its performance in a real environment and, in this first phase, susbsequently drawing technical conclusions on the development of the system and its potential for use in offshore environments. The initiative will provide valuable insights into how factors such as waves, wind, corrosion and the complexity of the anchoring system affect the structural performance of the technology, enabling future scale-up phases to be planned.

The 12×12 metre pilot, moored in the waters of the Santurtzi dock, consists of a modular stretched membrane and mesh structure with an outer frame that provides buoyancy and overall rigidity, enabling it to better adapt to the dynamic loads of the waves and facilitating the use of simple, transportable components, with the potential to reduce installation times and logistical complexity.

This initiative is part of the Seamod project to develop an innovative modular floating solution for PV solar energy in the marine environment. The proposed solution is designed as a system that can be scaled up and integrated with other marine renewable energy sources, such as offshore wind, to facilitate the energy transition by tapping into the potential of the sea and relieving pressure on agricultural and developable land.
Seamod has been developed by Landatu Solar with the support of the Basque Government Hazitek 2024 programme, and co-financed by the Basque Government Department of Economic Development, Sustainability and the Environment and the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
