Das von Aker unterstützte norwegische Unternehmen Føn Energy Services unterzeichnet einen Vertrag im Wert von mehreren Millionen Euro mit Baltic Power, dem am weitesten fortgeschrittenen Offshore-Windprojekt in Polen

(WK-intern) – Føn Energy Services Poland hat einen mehrjährigen Vertrag mit Baltic Power über die Erbringung integrierter Betriebs- und Wartungsdienstleistungen (O&M) für den Offshore-Windpark in Polen geschlossen.

Der Markt für Offshore-Windkraft in der Ostsee entwickelt sich dynamisch; für die kommenden Jahre wird ein zweistelliges Wachstum erwartet.

Allein in Polen dürften die Ausgaben für Betriebs- und Wartungsdienstleistungen (O&M) jährlich um durchschnittlich fast 40 % steigen.

Bei dem Vertrag im Wert von mehreren Millionen Euro handelt es sich um eine langfristige Vereinbarung mit Verlängerungsoptionen. Sie umfasst die Durchführung eines integrierten Betriebs- und Wartungsprogramms für die gesamte „Balance of Plant“ (BoP) – also die Anlagenkomponenten außerhalb der Windturbinen – im Unterwasserbereich des Offshore-Windparks Baltic Power, einschließlich Fundamenten und Kabeln. Zudem beinhaltet der Vertrag Umweltuntersuchungen zur Überwachung des Meeresbewuchses und des Verhaltens der Meeresfauna in diesem Gebiet. Das Programm deckt sämtliche Inspektions- und Instandsetzungsarbeiten für die Unterwasseranlagen von Baltic Power ab, einschließlich Projektmanagement und -planung, Schiffscharter und -management, Logistik, Engineering sowie Beschaffung. Bei der Erbringung dieser Dienstleistungen wird Føn Energy Services von lokalen polnischen Zulieferern unterstützt.

Die Zusammenarbeit mit lokalen Zulieferern hat für Føn Energy Services hohe Priorität. Polnische Unternehmen sind bereits fest in die Lieferkette von Baltic Power eingebunden: Die Aufbauten (Topsides) der Offshore-Umspannwerke wurden in den Werften von Danzig (Gdańsk) und Gdynia gefertigt, die Landkabel stammen aus einem Werk in Bydgoszcz, und Teile der Fundamente wurden in Żary und Niemodlin hergestellt. Der Anteil lokaler Wertschöpfung („Local Content“) bei Baltic Power soll über die gesamte Projektlaufzeit hinweg mehr als 21 % betragen. Dies entspricht den Richtlinien des polnischen Sektorabkommens, die für Projekte der Phase I einen Anteil von 20 bis 30 % vorsehen, während für Projekte der Phase II 40 bis 50 % angestrebt werden. „Dieser Vertrag markiert einen wichtigen Schritt beim Ausbau unserer Präsenz auf dem polnischen Offshore-Windmarkt. Wir setzen uns dafür ein, eine starke lokale Struktur aufzubauen und mit regionalen Partnern zusammenzuarbeiten, um einen effizienten Betrieb über die gesamte Lebensdauer der Anlage zu gewährleisten“, ergänzt Sindre Røhrich.

Das O&M-Programm (Betrieb und Instandhaltung) von Føn Energy Services ermöglicht es Baltic Power, die Nutzung der Unterwasseranlagen zu optimieren und Risiken zu minimieren sowie den Betrieb der Windparks effizienter zu gestalten. Das Projekt Baltic Power ist ein Joint Venture zwischen ORLEN und Northland Power. Es ist das am weitesten fortgeschrittene Offshore-Windprojekt in Polen und das erste, das die Bauphase erreicht hat. Insgesamt werden 76 Turbinen mit einer Leistung von je 15 MW installiert; sie sollen schätzungsweise 3 % des nationalen Strombedarfs decken.

Wir haben bereits erste Verträge für spezialisierte Wartungsdienstleistungen, Inspektionen der Unterwasserinfrastruktur, geophysikalische Untersuchungen sowie die Instandhaltung von Offshore- und Onshore-Umspannwerken unterzeichnet. Schon in dieser frühen Phase des Baltic-Power-Betriebs sind zahlreiche polnische Unternehmen und Forschungszentren an diesen Aufgaben beteiligt – dies ist ein wertvoller Impuls für die Entwicklung lokaler Wertschöpfung in der Offshore-Windenergie und ein Anreiz für weitere Unternehmen, in diesem Sektor zu wachsen“, kommentiert Maciej Stryjecki, CEO und Vorstandsvorsitzender von Baltic Power.

Der Vertrag stärkt zudem die Position von Føn Energy Services auf dem globalen Offshore-Windmarkt. In den vergangenen Jahren hat das Unternehmen sein Portfolio erheblich erweitert, indem es integrierte O&M-Dienstleistungen für Ocean Winds bei den schottischen Offshore-Windparks Moray West und Moray East – zwei der größten Projekte dieser Art in Europa – erbrachte. Mit dem neuen Auftrag in Polen plant Føn Energy Services, die Investitionen in der Region zu erhöhen und eine solide lokale Präsenz aufzubauen, die sowohl für den Kunden als auch für die lokale Lieferkette einen nachhaltigen Mehrwert schafft.

Norway’s Aker-backed Føn Energy Services signs multi-million-euro contract with Baltic Power, the most advanced offshore wind project in Poland

Føn Energy Services Poland has signed a multi-year contract with Baltic Power for the delivery of integrated O&M services at the offshore wind farm in Poland

The offshore wind market in the Baltic Sea shows strong momentum, with double-digit growth expected in the years ahead. In Poland alone, spending on operational and maintenance services (O&M) is projected to grow at an average annual rate of nearly 40%.

The multi-million-euro contract is a long-term agreement with extension options, covering the delivery of an integrated Balance of Plant (BoP) operations and maintenance programme for all subsea assets, including foundations and cables, at the Baltic Power offshore wind farm. The contract also includes environmental survey scope aimed at monitoring marine growth and animal habits in the area. The programme includes all services within inspection and corrective maintenance for Baltic Power’s subsea assets, which covers project management and planning, vessels chartering and management, logistics, engineering and procurement. Føn Energy Services will be supported by local Polish suppliers in delivering these services.

Working with local suppliers is a priority for Føn Energy Services. Polish companies are already engaged across the Baltic Power supply chain – the topsides of the offshore substations were built in the shipyards in Gdańsk and Gdynia, onshore cables were delivered from the factory in Bydgoszcz, and parts of the foundations arrived from Żary and Niemodlin. The local content level for Baltic Power is expected to exceed 21% over the project’s lifetime, in line with the Polish Sector Deal guidelines of 20-30% for phase I projects, with phase II projects expected to reach 40-50%.

This contract marks an important step in building our presence in the Polish offshore wind market. We are committed to establishing a strong local set-up and working with regional partners to support efficient operations over the life of the asset. Sindre Rhrich adds.

Føn Energy Service’s O&M programme will allow Baltic Power to optimise, improve its subsea asset utilisation, and reduce risk, while also enable more efficient operation of its wind farms. The Baltic Power project is a joint venture between ORLEN and Northland Power. It is the most advanced offshore wind project in Poland and the first one to have reached the construction phase. In total, 76 turbines will be installed with a capacity of 15 MW, estimated to cover 3% of the national electricity demand.

“The establishment of a supply chain for the operational and maintenance phase of Baltic Power has no precedence in the Polish energy sector. With the construction of the O&M base in Łeba, we are creating extensive logistics and maintenance facilities as well as new jobs. We have signed the first contracts for specialist maintenance services and inspections of underwater infrastructure, geophysical surveys, and the maintenance of offshore and onshore substation. Even at this early stage of Baltic Power’s operations, a number of Polish companies and research centers will be involved in these tasks – this is a valuable boost for developing local content in offshore wind energy and an incentive for further companies to grow in this sector,” comments Maciej Stryjecki, CEO and the President of the Management Board of Baltic Power.

The contract further strengthens Føn Energy Services’ position in the global offshore wind market. In recent years, the company has significantly expanded its portfolio by delivering integrated O&M services to Ocean Winds at the Moray West and Moray East offshore wind farms in Scotland – among the largest offshore wind projects in Europe. With the new contract in Poland, Føn Energy Services expects to ramp up its investments in the region and establish a robust local set-up that creates lasting value for the client and the local supply chain.

About the Baltic Power offshore wind farm project
Baltic Power – developed by ORLEN and Northland Power – is the most advanced offshore wind project in Poland and the first to commence offshore installations. Once construction of the ~1,2 GW offshore wind farm is completed, up to 4 TWh of electricity will be generated annually, which stands for 3% of the current national demand. The farm is located approximately 23 km from the shore near Choczewo and Łeba, covering an area of 130 square kilometers. Baltic Power is scheduled to become operational in the second half of 2026.
