Helsinki – Fortum erhielt im CDP-Bericht 2025 die Note A für seine Klimaschutzbemühungen.

(WK-intern) – Die Gesamtbewertung von Fortum verbesserte sich von A- auf A.

Von den 16 Kategorien erreichte Fortum in 12 (75 %) die Bestnote A.

Um vom CDP eine A/A-Bewertung zu erhalten, müssen Organisationen eine Vorreiterrolle im Umweltschutz nachweisen und ihre Klimaschutzmaßnahmen offenlegen. Im Vergleich zum Bericht von 2024 erzielte Fortum die größten Verbesserungen in der Kategorie „Risikoberichterstattung“. Der Bericht von 2025 basiert auf den Ergebnissen von Fortum aus dem Jahr 2024. 2025 feiert Fortum sein zwanzigjähriges Bestehen als CDP-Partner.

Fortum gehört zu den CO₂-ärmsten Stromerzeugern Europas: 99 % des Stroms werden mit CO₂-armen Technologien erzeugt. Zusätzlich zu den SBTi-Zielen wird Fortum bereits bis 2027 aus der Kohleverstromung aussteigen. Fortum arbeitet mit seinen Dekarbonisierungsprojekten, wie beispielsweise Espoo Clean Heat und der Umstellung von Kohle auf Biomasse und Ersatzbrennstoffe in Polen, kontinuierlich an der Erreichung dieser Ziele.

CDP ist eine gemeinnützige Organisation, die sich für nachhaltige Entwicklung einsetzt. Die Organisation bewertet die Klimaleistung von Unternehmen weltweit auf einer Skala von A bis D. Sie unterhält ein globales Berichtssystem, mit dem Unternehmen und Städte ihre Umweltauswirkungen messen, überwachen und steuern können.

Fortum reaches highest grade in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) report

Fortum scored A for its climate efforts in the 2025 Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) report. Fortum’s overall scoring improved from A- to A. Of the 16 categories, Fortum received the highest score A in 12 (75%). To earn an A/A- score from CDP, organizations must show environmental leadership, disclosing action on climate change. Compared to the 2024 report, Fortum made most significant improvements in the 2025 report category “Risk disclosure”. The 2025 report is based on Fortum’s 2024 performance. 2025 marks Fortum’s twentieth anniversary with CDP.

Fortum is one of the least carbon-intensive power producers in Europe with 99% power generated with low-carbon technologies. In addition to the SBTi targets, Fortum will exit coal in its production already by 2027. Fortum continues to work towards these targets with its decarbonisation projects, such as Espoo Clean Heat and fuel-switching from coal to biomass and refuse-derived fuel in Poland.
