NKT hat die Investition in die Erweiterung der Produktion von Mittelspannungskabeln am Standort Asnaes (Dänemark) erfolgreich abgeschlossen.

(WK-intern) – Die modernisierte und erweiterte Anlage ist nun in Betrieb und stärkt die Kapazitäten sowie die Leistungsfähigkeit von NKT, um der durch die Energiewende bedingten hohen Nachfrage nach Stromkabelsystemen gerecht zu werden.

NKT hat die Erweiterung seiner Produktionsstätte für Mittelspannungskabel in Asnaes, Dänemark, abgeschlossen.

Das 2024 begonnene Erweiterungsprojekt umfasst eine neue Produktionshalle, neue Fertigungs- und Prüfanlagen sowie Optimierungen der gesamten Produktionsabläufe, wodurch die Ausbringungsmenge des Standorts erheblich gesteigert wird. Die Hochlaufphase der Produktion wird in den kommenden Monaten fortgesetzt. Mit den nun abgeschlossenen Investitionen ist NKT bestens aufgestellt, um die hohe Nachfrage nach zuverlässigen Mittelspannungskabeln zu decken, die für den Netzausbau, die Integration erneuerbarer Energien und die Elektrifizierung in ganz Europa benötigt werden.

Investition in das Stromnetz von morgen

Die Investition erfolgt zu einem Zeitpunkt, an dem die Notwendigkeit zur Modernisierung und Erweiterung der Stromnetze in ganz Europa zunimmt. Treiber dieser Entwicklung sind eine alternde Infrastruktur sowie der steigende Bedarf durch Elektrifizierung, Rechenzentren und erneuerbare Energien – Faktoren, die eine höhere Netzkapazität und mehr Flexibilität erfordern.

Im Zuge der Werkserweiterung hat NKT mehr als 100 neue Mitarbeiter am Standort Asnaes begrüßt. Da NKT bereits seit über 60 Jahren Kabel in Asnaes produziert, bleibt das Unternehmen dem Standort und der lokalen Gemeinschaft weiterhin eng verbunden. Im August 2026 finden am Standort eine Einweihungsfeier und ein Festakt statt.

NKT completes expansion of medium-voltage power cable production in Denmark

NKT has successfully completed its investment to expand medium-voltage (MV) power cable production at its site in Asnaes, Denmark. The upgraded and expanded facility is now operational, strengthening NKT’s capacity and capabilities to support the high demand for power cable systems driven by the energy transition.

NKT has completed the expansion of its medium-voltage production facility in Asnaes, Denmark. The expansion, which was initiated in 2024, includes a new production hall, new production and test facilities and enhancements to the overall production flow, significantly increasing the output from the site. Ramp up of output will continue in the coming months. With the investments now completed, NKT is well positioned to meet the high demand for reliable medium-voltage power cable systems used in grid upgrades, renewable energy integration and electrification across Europe.

Building for tomorrow’s power grid

The investment comes at a time when the need to modernise and expand power grids across Europe is accelerating, driven by ageing infrastructure and increasing demand from electrification, data centres and renewable energy, all of which require greater grid capacity and flexibility.

NKT has welcomed more than 100 new colleagues to the site in Asnaes as a result of this factory expansion. Having produced cables in Asnaes for more than 60 years, NKT remains committed to the site and local community.

An inauguration ceremony and celebration will be held at the site in August, 2026.
