Umspannplattform für Offshore-Windpark Sandbank geht auf See (WK-intern) - „Leinen los“ für einen 2.400-Tonnen-Giganten: Nach rund 16 Monaten Bauzeit geht das Offshore-Umspannwerk für den Offshore-Windpark Sandbank jetzt auf seine Seereise zur Baustelle des Windparks 90 Kilometer westlich von Sylt. Begleitet wird das etwa 20 Meter hohe und 20 x 40 Meter in der Fläche messende Umspannwerk von einer 51 Meter hohen und 1.700 Tonnen schweren so genannten Jacket-Unterkonstruktion aus Stahl, die dem Umspannwerk an seinem Bestimmungsort in der Nordsee als Fundament dient. Umspannwerk und Jacket-Fundament sind zusammen mehr als 70 Meter hoch. Zuvor wurde das Umspannwerk bereits von seinem Fabrikationsort Aalborg in Dänemark
